Hi John,

Did you hold the ctrl key down whilst clicking the preview button before uploading so that the changes are applied to the files correctly?

Regards,

Mark.

Hi Stefan,

I have seen mention of the IE11 ftp problem, but I have 64bit Win 7 and IE11 and haven't had a problem with the inbuilt ftp upload - although I hardly ever use IE - I always use Firefox as my default browser, but I do test my sites on a range of other browsers, operating systems and screen sizes to ensure compatability.

I don't know about IE11 and win 8 as I don't like Win 8, so don't use it on my own machine, that said I have come across a number of compatablity issues with Win 8 machines and networks - most systems admins are resisting the change to win 8 for business networks, preferring to wait until all the bugs are ironed out - remember ME and Vista -  two operating systems a lot of people avoided because of the problems associated with them...

Regards,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

first of all: it only counts that you have IE11 on your PC regardless if you are really using IE11 or another browser like Firefox. By the installation of IE11 many Windows System DLLs were replaced and some of them are used also by Firefox. And one of those DLLs have a bug which can only be fixed by Microsoft.

Second: it seems to be the case that the bug occured with one of the latest updates of IE11. So it might be that it worked for sometime having IE11 on the PC.

Third: it's not an Windows 8 or Windows 7 issue. You can stay on Win7-64. But not with IE11.

Try it with an external FTP program. Or roll back to IE10.

Regards,

Stefan

Fourth: it even might be the case that it works completely without any errors on the latest IE11. The bug has to do with the handshaking between your PC and the external server during FTP upload. If the external server is very fast, your PC or internet connection is quite slow then it might be that the server can handle all upload requests as quick as they arrive. But if not it cannot "tell" your PC to wait or to resend the packet again. This handshaking doesn't work well anymore.

Hi Stefan,

Well I have the latest IE11, a reasonably fast network (I get around 19meg - uploading my sites in a couple of minutes) but I haven't had the problem you have experienced with handshaking, though that maybe due to the fact that I do use fast business grade hosting for my sites.

Regards,

Mark.

Hi and thanks for coming back everyone.  I am using google chrome to browse.  I have checked again just now and the last post which I put up on the homepage has not transferred to the internet.  I also notice that when I open my incomedia webx5 software now on the homepage of my site it is not giving me the option to create another row as if the page is full.  I have been operating the homepage as a type of blog wherein you can find the history of the choir's events for the past couple of years.  Is it possible that the homepage is full?

Hello John,

The program uses Internet Explorer for the internal functions and if you installed IE11 then this could be the issue. Try also to update the program to the latest release since you are using 8.0.9 and the latest update is 8.0.16

Many thanks!

Thanks for coming back Claudio.  Yes I have just updated.  I can see the file I want to transfer on both sides of the filzilla page ie in the local directory and in the files of the remote site and yet they are not up on the net.  Filezilla is saying file transfer successful but the files do not appear on the net.
