Hello! I want to travel from A to Z. I have a map that shows the way I have to run. On this trip I stop to look at the view, eat lunch, etc. I want the insert an image (template) in the places I will stop. When I click on one of the pictures I've put in, I get a new page that tells about this place in text and images. How do I do it? Best regards Steinar T

That's a nice challange.

To be honest I never done this but this is what I would try:

Use a table for your page, set the borders to zero.

Use the cell style button in page creation to set your map picture in the background.

create colums and rows as much as places you have on your map, not more because it slows your site down. You can move the borders around (set the borders from zero to 1 for adjusting)

Set in the table your small pictures (you can move these inside the colum and page with the center option if neccessary). And set a link to another page from that picture, use open in new window or open as popup.

It's probably a little puzzle but it might work.

Let me know how it works out !

An easier way is using an Image Map Editor. For example MapEdit 4.05(http://www.boutell.com/mapedit).

You can place the HTML-file into a Page with HTML & Widgets.

It is working fine.

It will be helpfull as you can send me the information you have placed into the HTML Widget and perhaps the used picture.

Steiner,

Goto page 3 and select the table, only select, not double click.

Then use cell style button on top.

There you can use the pulldown menu to select the option background image.

Steiner, I will create a small step by step tutorial, but this wil take some time. (and Olympic scating is on tv ... :) )

Just a few pointers, maybe they help you on your way:

You need to use a big 3x3 grid from your table to start. set in the first row and the second and the third a text like P1 and P2 and P3, set one of them in the first colum and 1 in the last. Just to give you an idea of the grid, also to make the table work, if there is no data spaces will be ignored by the website code and you will see nothing.

Set your background by the cell style button, I think image background option will do.

Then preview and then it is just moving the table kolums an rows and use the alignement to get the P1 and P2 text around the place you would like the picture for your link later on.

Hope this gets you for the moment on your way.

Steiner,

As promised, a little late but I'm short on time at the moment....

I made a fast step by step, maybe a little over the top regarding pictures but this was for me the fastest way to help you.

Check out the step by step here: http://andreweb.nl/x5_test/map.html

Just to add a note, why use a table ?

This is because it fixes al the margins, by using a table you can set your own windows screen smaller or bigger, but the markers and the map will always match.

Let me know how it works out !!!!

Hello! I think we're talking past each other. If you follow this link it will take you to a map of Turkey.
Https://maps.google.no/.Dersom you then click on the "bilder" (norwegian text) you will get a picture with several "point of interrest"
If you click on the picture you will get an enlarged version of this "point of interrest". This is what I want to post on my homepage,
but rather an enlarged image I want by clicking on the image going to a new page where I have elaborated the attractions etc.

Kind regards

You can change offcource the background map and the marker(s) to any thing you want.

But help me out, how many markers do you want, how big is the map you want to use?

maybe send some to me (eather by mail or here in a zip file)

Is it neccessary to zoom in and out ? (that will be difficult and not possible with a table)

But you can offcource use multiple maps (multiple pages)

Let me know because the link you gave me can be made, so maybe we are talking past eachother...But then I dont understand correctly.

Steiner,

are you using a table as explained? If you use a thump picture to show up in de table

then the size of the picture can be set in the table.

If you select your thump and then select the link button, you can create a link to another page and set in the tab description a description (that's your mouse over).

If something is not clear in my example let me know, i can change it so it will get better for other people as well.

Thanks !
