Index.html file not updating correctly  en

When I make changes to my web project it seems like the index.html file doesnt get correctly updated.

In preview every things looks fine. When I upload the website to the internet the old version is still showing until I start clicking on the different menues.

See vaekstkurver.dk with the original version.

Then I uploaded an updated version under vaekstkurver.dk/test. In the updated version the old version of the welcome page is still showing and page I changed isnt showing in the menu. If you in vaekstkurver.dk/test then go into some of the page it starts showing the updated web page correctly - so the pages work its just the index.html that isnt correctly showing the updated version of the website.

Im using Website X5 evolution 10

after you uploading your website use Ctrl+F5 to rebuff your Internet browser, I see your both websites, see attachment

only diference is in test you have 1 tab less!

That is not the solution. I always use F5 to refresh my browser after uploading new version of the website.

I know you can see something on vaekstkurver.dk/test but my point is that its showing the wrong (old) version of the welcome page still - and the missing tab should not be missing. Its missing as I changed the sitemap and changed menu tab 3 from a different level to a simple page (no submenu under the 3rd tab in the updated version) and the incorrect index file doesnt reflect this change.

I have uploaded a figure showing how vaekstkurver.dk/test looks and how it is supposed to look to explain this better.

Also when I export the project to the internet I can see that the index.html file isnt update (older timestamp, than the rest of the uploaded files). when I open the index.html file I can also see that it still contains the text of the original welcome page and not the new updated (longer) text.

problem could being caused by width of your tab.

change width of your tab or make the name of your tab shorter, specialy tab named "Danske Vaekstkurver 2014"

it has nothing to do with the width of my tab. The index.html simply isnt being updated when I save and upload a new version of the website.

In the end I solved it by copying the welcome page html file, renamed it index.html and then upload this new index.html (copy of welcome page html file) and overwritting the incorrect index.html. www.vaekstkurver.dk/test is now showing as it should.

Still its a work around a bug and means I will have to do this extra step every time I upload a new version. Would rather see that the bug was sorted.

Also now realise what the problem is. In my sitemap I have in the properties of the home (welcom) page ticked the box "file name" and changed the default (index) to something more descriptive (as I wanted this to show in the url address) so yeah no wonder no new index file is produced every time I save the project. The work-around I described in my previous post and the minor extra work a price I gladly pay to have a more descriptive url address.

However, spent loads of time figuring this out (maybe just me being slow) so maybe it would be a good idea with an inbuildt warning that if you change the file name for the "Home" page from the default index you will have this problem.
