Add pdf files for downloading, not reading

There has to be an easier way to add downloadable content such as zip or pdf files. As it is now it is not very user friendly.
No reason why on a given text page there is no easy way to add file, not just image or cell. Thank you. Ted

Hello Edward,
On the text object you can add a file with the link function and this will be downloaded.
In case of PDF files it depends on the browser settings since if it is set to open them always instead of downloading these are opened.
There is an alternative which uses some settings on the hosting service where you can add the instructions to download always to file.
