What could be the cause that after installation of WebsiteX5V10, it takes more than 3-4 minuten before I can enter and process the licentie key. Also to start up WebsiteX5 takes more that 3-4 minuten.

Hello Herman,

Try to close all programs running in background and then test again. Try to check if a defrag can help to speed up the system.

Many thanks!

Hello Claudia and other respondents

My PC is not old and slow. It has a 4 GB memory. All the other things work fine

Closing all programs running in background did not help. Also running in safe mode did not help. Disable all services did help however

I found out that if I disable the Windows Management Instrumentation service via MSConfig Services, WebsiteX5 starts within a few seconds.

If the Windows Management Instrumentation service is enabled it takes about 3-5 minutes before the program start.

I have run Winmgmt /verifyrepository and also Winmgmt /salvagerepository , but both say that the database / repository is consistent.

De repository files in C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository are:

INDEX.BTR  4396 kB

MAPPING1.MAP 60kB

MAPPING2.MAP 60 kB

MAPPING3.MAP 60 kB

OBJECTS.DATA  18.384 kB

I am afraid to execute a Winmgmt /resetrepository command, because I think I have to reinstall all my programs.

What are the consequences when I leave the service Windows Management Instrumentation disabled?

Or does anybody have other suggestions, besides the ones given above.

Thanks and kind regards

HermanV

Hello Herman, open up the "Task Manager" (if you haven't already) and check everything. Cycle through the menu bar and see if you can find what is taking up resources and slowing your computer down. Something odd is going on if this happens only with X5. We should be talking seconds not minutes here. I would remove and reload X5 as recommended before making any serious changes to your OS. Back up your projects if you do!

Hello Herman,

I would also check in the Windows Management Instrumentation service if there is a specific function which causes this issue by trying to disable one by one to check which one is causing this behaviour.

Many thanks!
