How can I setup the shopping cart csv so that the options and sub options are preserved?

I have already discovered that sub options will not export to the shopping cart csv. Is there a way to setup the import shopping cart csv file so that options and sub options are not changed or updated? How can I exclude options and sub options from the import csv? Thanks
