Very basic and quick question re: sitemap settings - if you want a page to be included in the sitemap (once you have selected priority and update settings), should you leave the 'Add this page to the sitemap' ticked or should you untick it? Thanks

Leave the check box as it is, to my knowledge it will add the page it automatically to the sitemap.

BTW it should be checked by default when you create a page...

Can I just confirm please?.. So I have ticked the box, changed the details and so should leave the box ticked? I only ask because I have recently found out that leaving the 'File Name' box ticked at the bottom of the Page Properties,  page, creates real problems.

yes, you need to keep the checkmark, if you remove the check mark, that page will no longer would be part of your sitemap (the fields next to it will get freezed/blocked).

also as a side note, I always put a checkmark in my filename (page property) because I customized my page names. sometimes if you make a copy of one page and pasted inside step2, even when you rename the page, filename stays the same and you need to go there and change the page name and remember, ther should be no space between page names and no capital wording, for example if your page name in Contact Us, file name should be contact-us or contact_us.

Thanks, Anthony. The reason I asked this questions goes back to the issue I asked you about the other day. I don't know if you read my reply, but it turns out the reason my page names weren't changing was because I still had the page file name box checked and had to uncheck it for it change. So I think it's a little confusing that in one instance you have to uncheck a box for things to work as they should and in another case you have to leave it checked to work.

yes, Gary, normaly they need to be without check mark, unless:

1. you want to give a different name to the page

2. you copy/paste the page

3. your page name is too long (x5 will choose just part of it, in order to have the full name, you need to change the page name manualy).

I'm sorry, I think I missed your other respond, otherwise I would tell you over there.
