Ipad Serious Issues!  en

Ok here is a major problem- I have purchased every version of this software and just recently i built an e-commerce website (www.chandelierdrops.co.uk) I am now flooded with complaints from clients that when they try to order items from the site on an Ipad they are met with an error message!

Apparently on looking into this i found that the whole cart system and page is in flash which cannot be seen on an ipad- so now i go back to my customer and tell him that he has to lose 10- 15% of his sales as the software (Website X5 Professional) is not compatible with ipad.

My argument is why didnt incomedia tell its customers this prior to selling the software and nowhere does it mention "does not work on ipads".

What a shame as this is fantastic software but going forward we are going to have to migrate away and no doubt so will thousands of other customers when they realise they were NOT told the whole truth about this software??

Incomedia, what are you doing about this- dozens of my clients are using your software and i have yet to tell them my findings before they find out the hard way.

Hello Peter,

The cart system in Version 10 is not flash based but it is made of html and javascript.

Can you please tell me what error message do the customers get when they make the orders with an iPad?

Is the error message QuotaExceederError: DOM Exeception 22 ?

If yes then this happens because they are using the private browsing option or the cache of the browser is full on the iPad and this needs to be disabled or the browser cache deleted since it is not allowing the javascript code to work correctly and to send the order. It is necessary to set the browser to normal mode on the iPhone/iPad to allow to make the orders.

Many thanks!

Hello Peter,

This happens only if the browser in the iPad is set to use the private browsing where the orders cannot be stored since it is not allowing to save it in the browser until it is sent. This really depends on the settings the user has defined on the browser.

You can set a reminder in case of iPad user to deactivate the private browsing mode so not loose the sales.

Many thanks!
