Website X5 Evolution10 : Upload .jpg images to slideshow but .png images show up when I publish it online

Hello,
I create slideshows for the different engines that I post to our website. The images are originally taken in .jpg format. The images are very large, so I resize them in microsoft paint and re-save them in .jpg format and then upload them to the slideshows in Website Evolution. The program shows a .jpg extension next to the filename of each image in the slideshow, but when I go to publish the website to the server (HostGator Cpanel) and then view the site online, it's showing .png format for those images in the source instead of .jpg. Can you please tell me why it is changing the images from .jpg to .png? .png images are much larger in size than .jpg and it slows down the rendering of the website pages drastically... I would also like to know if there is a way to save the thumb images as .jpg instead of .png as well.
Thanks
Hello Ryan,
It happens because of the watermark you added on the images since the watermark image uses transparency these are in png format because jpg is not supporting it.
If you remove the watermark or add it with an external program directly on them then these will remain as jpg.
Many thanks!
