How to open my back up

After a shortcut of power to my computer while working on my website the computer stopt.
Restarting and continuing gives a failuremessage when opening this project: het magische getal in de kop van GZIP is fout. You can also see that the date and time has been reset.
In Preferences I always use: make back-up. Outside the programm X5 I can see a file called backup. But I can't open it. I can't change the path in Preferences to back-up because it's not shown there.
So how to select this back-up? And work from there?
I hope you know how.
This kind of bad luck is always at the bad moment...

Thanks to an other answer. Long time to look for.
I changed the name project.iwprj into deproject.iwprj
I changed the name backup.iwprj into project.iwprj

Helemaal gelukt door het aanpassen van de file-namen. Gezocht in verkenner op *.iwprj en daar stonden zowel backup als project. backup werd project. En project een onzinnaam.
Misschien goed om deze oplossing er als link nog aan te koppelen.
De toewijzing - het pad - was niet het probleem. Daar wordt in dit antwoordenforum vaak naar verwezen. Het probleem was een fout in het project doordat het programma X5 abrupt werd afgebroken doordat de computer geen stroom meer had.
OK, Mooi dat het nu werkt.
Om je oplossing erbij te zetten laat ik aan Incomedia over.
