Add multiple items to cart and continue shopping

Can someone please advise if this is possible, and if not could it be adopted as an update?
I would like to add multiple items to the cart and continue shopping without going to the shopping cart until I choose to do so.
If possible, I would like to have a 'form' that customers can select a number of items of a product (7 of one item, 3 or another, 2 of another etc) and when submitted, the items will be added to the cart.

Hello Nigel, what program are you using? The Professional version automatically provides this opportunity, as you can see from the attached screen shot .

I think I understand what you are saying. I have tried to do the same kind of thing. I am developing a site where the customer chooses a main item and then needs to select appropriate add-ons. They might choose up to a dozen add-ons and I wish they didn't get directed to the cart after each one, it destroys the flow. Anyway to hold off on the cart until the end of that section.
