Doing websites for other people who own website x5

if you design a website using one version can it be opened by the purchaser if they have a different version of the website x5?
If I was to make websites for people who own website x5 but they own a different version will they be able to open with thier version? or If they did it with a lower version and then they wanted to add features and I added them would they be able to use the project if I exported it and gave it to them.
Example: they have compact and I get thier project and add a guestbook with evelution or pro, can they then still rdit and make minor changes to thier site and publish it with the version they have?

Dear Ralph,
usually it is possible operate change to one website from last version of the program to one previous and not vice versa; example: with your professional version you will be able to modify one website builded with evolution 10, but with evo 10 you cannot modify a website builded trough a pro version.

Thanks so it looks like you should always do the sites in the format they own and not just buy pro thinking you can do any sites for anyone no matter what vertion they have. To bad they did not have a convertion software so you can do them then convert them down to the version they own.

How about making templates. If you make templates in pro can people use them in evo or comp.? Of do you have to do templates in all three versions then upload the for people to use.

The templates can be used in Evolution and Professional and these are the same so if you create them in Professional these can be used in Evolution and the contrary.
