Activex Controls (How to disable it, Does X5 invoke controls?)  en

Good day, I have disabled the ActiveX controls within the Control Panel, Internet Options.

I am using Windows 7.

I uploaded the published files unto a Linex Server.

The Problem is the ActiveX Controls are still active.

On my LAPTOP I need to Allow everytime when I run the index.html file via Explorer.

Now when running the website off the server http://www.meerkatconsultants.co.za NONE of the video nor the gallery picture appear.

Looking forward to your solutions.

Blessings.

Hello Kobus,

The program is not using activex controls to display galleries or videos but or html5 functions or the flash player plugin.

In your case the images are not shown because some files are missing on the online server and I would suggest you to try to export the complete project again online.

It seems all the files inside the /res/ folder online are missing and these are necessary to make the galleries work.

Many thanks!

Hello Kobus,

I tested the website on different browsers and it worked perfectly on all the slideshow and on Internet Explorer i was not asked to activate the activeXcontrols.

What version of IE do you have on your PC?

On the other browsers do you have any plugins installed which could block the slideshow and are these updated?

many thanks!

@Claudio D. Hello there,

IE is version 11

I have attached a word document, with screen dumps.  Everytime the browser handles a new page by the looks of it, the prompt arrises.

My observation is also that when you click to allow, it opens the door to a flood of adverts to come onto the screen.

Your help is appreciated.

ps. I also have a question on a user who would like to update his website with products, hence I install the ecommerce object, but the client does not want to pay me to upload new or replacement products. Any suggestions? I have a test.kobusdippenaar.co.za site.

Blessings.

Hello Kobus,

If this happens with every page then I would suggest to verify the computer with an antivirus or a malware remover. The program uses no activex and I tested IE11 with your website and also answers.websitex5.com and no activex5 request is made by the browser.

If you want to use the ecommerce function of website x5 the only way to update the products is to use the program. Or you do it or the customer buys the program and you send him the copy of the project so he can then update it by himself.

Many thanks!
