How can I paste a text with hyperlinks and retain the links?  en

Friends:

I copied a text from Microsoft WORD which contains the phrase "Click Here". The phrase in WORD had a hyperlink included in it (using Control K in WORD).

When I pasted the text, the phrase "Click Here" was still single underlined but the link was lost. (That is, when published, clicking on "Click Here" resulted in no action).

How can I retain the copied hyperlinks! It is too much trouble to insert them again, one by one. Lots of links in the page.

Thanks

Hi Akram,

I regret but you cannot transfer the Hyperlink created with word and must to insert again handly; I tried to do similar operation many times, without any result.

Regards.

P.S.

I am an normal user like you, I hope for you that someone with more experience can solve your issue.

Thanks Gabriele

And I just discovered that even if you copy text from another page within an X5 project, the link is lost.

Please help me plead with INCOMEDIA so they will introduce a solid RTF Editor so we can copy/paste, import from Office Products, handles tables properlyl (you cannot copy/paste rows or columns), use tabs and bullets, etc, etc.

I also miss various short cuts . . .

Thanks all the same

Akram

I just bought Professional 11 expecting that copying and pasting links from one text object to another would work. It still doesn't! The ability to do this has been around for decades in other editors and the beta site said that it was "under repair" but you released 11 anyway. What's wrong with you people? Fix it!

Agree, Barry. No need to develop a new RTF, just use the 10s of open source products.

I maintain a local newspaper website, and we have many articles with up to 40 hyperlinks. I've found only it you save a document as html, view the code, then copy and paste it into the html object will this work. It's a pain and a time waster. I have been using FrontPage for years as well as Word. There is never this issue. I usually edit the document in word, copy and paste to FrontPage, then copy the code from there to the html object. That too is a problem time-wise for me. So I just use FrontPage. It works. I do my personal website using Incomedia. I hate that the text editor loses all my formatting so I skip using it for the two church sites I do. I've asked for a better more web friendly text editor, but so far, no go. SIGH!

I am a big fan of WebSite X5, and this copy and paste Hyperlink issue was very disappointing to say the least. I too purchased version 11 Pro in hopes that it would be included. In my opinion this is a necessity and should be built-in.

I remember a free website creator that Microsoft offered years ago that had this feature and just took it for granted that this feature was just a given.

I would really like to see this available soon too.
