Shopping cart reply email  en

There was a change in the Yahoo DMARC policy to setting a “p=reject” record. Yahoo tells other DMARC compliant systems to reject mail from Yahoo users that isn’t genuinely originated from a Yahoo server.

That stopped the automatic reply from the shopping cart (at Starblazersonline.com) from being sent out and generated a Permanent failure error message 554_5.7.9.

It was suggested that the automated reply email be changed to ***. OK, except when I went to change the email address for Users Order Confirmation email there was no place to change it! There used to be but now I can't seem to find it.

What am I doing wrong?

Greg

Hello Gregory,

You will need to set as email where to receive the orders as *** so the customer will recieve the email from *** and you will receive then the order on this email.

Unfortunately this depends directly on the settings of yahoo and the only alternative would be to use a different hosting provider without these limitations.

Many thanks!

Unfortunately it seems ALL the email services (Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, Hotmail) seem to have changed their DMARC policies to "p=reject".

If the responce email is set to "***" the customer does receive a confirmation email BUT it seems no email is generated for the seller to GET the order information. Not even a MAIL DAEMON. Is there any way around this so a "***" can be used to generate an automated reply to a customers order with the actual order being sent to ***?

By your first reply I'm guessing not, but............

Thanks,

Greg

Hello Gregory,

You will need to generate an email as *** on your hosting server and then or you will receive the email of the order on this email or you set to forward all emails sent to *** to ***

Many thanks!
