Same problem with opening program having taken advice - now desperate

I am unable to open my Website X5 software. I can only get two clicks in and choose the project to work on and just after the start of ‘Initialising Project Files’ up comes a sign saying:-
An error occurred while loading the project
[There is an error in XML document (1894464, 120).]
I have already tried the suggestion below but for fear of losing all my work, I duplicated that project and went through the instructions as stated in
https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/47713with the duplication and I still get the error message but with a different number 'XML document (1894696, 40)'
Should it work the same way on the duplicate site? Or will I have to risk everything on the original?
