I last updated my website in July.  It is saved on my hard drive now here's the rub.  Incromedia Website X5 will not import the file, even though it was created and updated in it!  To import it weants a file with the extension .iwzip  which my website does not have it has a file extension of IWPRJ  NONE of my projects are showing.

I have done nothing to the PC, no modifiactions nothing.  If I have to rebuild the website it won'tbe using ANY Incromedia software as this is purrely ridiculous.  Any help will be gratefully recived as I have two other websites which I'm habving the same problem with,  Incromedia X5 Evolution is just no help whatsoever in this.

Michael,

As always is a backup very importand, create it regurly in step5 with export project on a seperate medium.

Then you will get the iwzip.

The iwprj is the project file it shown in x5 if you set the folder above it in your preferences.

Did you maybe change drive letters or path? Anyway, set it in your preferences, you can do this in the start page if you set the default folder to the folder above where your iwprj file is in you will have your project again.

Don't forget to start making backup's!

Best Regards,

As Andre says, you don't want to use the "Import" function, as it won't open the iwprj file. The Import function is to access backup files that use the iwzip extension. You need to create iwzip files every now and then like Andre suggests (in case of computer or hard drive failure) and store them in an external drive.

When you first open x5, the first screen you get (before project selection) has a left hand side menu. The last item on the is "preferences". This is where, as Andre says, you can "point" X5 to where your iwprj file is located and it should then be accessible on the next screen and be able to be opened (you don't use the "import" function to open it - I got confused by that wording myself when I first started using the program).

I hope this helps you to get up and running again.
