Canonical "/" vs index page?

Every page of my site has a canonical tag. including the home page ("Home" in X5 map, File name: index) which is <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.abthermal.com/index.html" />
But my seo analyzers report that "https://www.abthermal.com/" is set to "https://www.abthermal.com/index.html" but should be is set to "https://www.abthermal.com/"
So do I just take out the "index.html" on the <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.abthermal.com/index.html" /> for the expert custom code on the Home page ???
If I do that, then isn't the index.html file on the server being missed as where to go?
