Has anyone else been told that their credits about to expire?
I have paid for them so feel ripped off that I must use them ASAP before I lose them.

I bought some postage stamps at Christmas and in theory, they will last for years, I don't feel I can recommend WebSite X5.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Buy now what you think you might need or use in the future.
Don't buy more then you need at the moment.
There are more posts like your's search the forum helpdesk to see more reactions, also from Incomedia.

I got caught in the same trap and was forced to buy stuff I neither wanted nor needed. The credit system is, in my mind, a total scam and I will never buy any ever again.

Normal companies place items on sale so you can purchase whatever you require. Incomedia only allows purchase of credits so you always pay more than you needed to. If that isn't already enough to destroy their customers loyalty to the brand, they double down by making your credits expire. Think about that a moment. Banks steal our money with really low or negative interest rates but they never steal the whole lot. Incomedia says "Spend your money within a year or we will zero your account!"

The thing that amazes me most is that they seriously believe this practice is perfectly acceptable!!!

Thanks for the quick replies.

I did a search and nothing came up.

The items I've bought aren't fit for purpose in my opinion, a waste of money.

I wish someone could pick up WebPlus X8 by Serif and bring it up to date, a far better product but you are stuck with a Desktop or Laptop view nothing for tablets or phones.

When my licence runs out I won't be purchasing a new one so how much will that cost Incomedia?

I am still around but decided not to pay the "upgrade protection" fee after 2019, as I could not see the benefit of doing so as long as my version still did what it needed to. The old system was a lot better when you could choose to buy a new version when it came out (at a decent price because you were a loyal customer) and still got any bug fixes etc for the old version as well as the new one.

This could be a great product if a different marketing strategy was used and the developers listened to the requests of the users. It's still a good product...but for how long?

There is one possible way to make them change their expiring credits system. Go tell the world about your experience by writing an honest review of the product at https://www.capterra.com/p/182789/WebSite-X5/

If you go down this route, don't be rude about them, even if they have earned your anger. Just answer the questions honestly and in the section about what you don't like tell all about the bugs, credit system, and management who couldn't give a sh*t about their customers.

At the moment, the product only has positive reviews with one single person saying he didn't like the credit system. The reviews can be as long as you want so tell it like it is! wink
