Can the index file be used in a directory with the rest of the files are not in?

I have a website on another script, I want to add a page using website X5 evo
I want the style, res,and pcss folders to be in a folder (Not Public_html)
and put the index file elsewhere.
I have tried this and it does not work.
Example: folder newpage holds the style, res, and pcss folders
the index file code is put in the other script as a page.
This does not work even if i add the path to the folder in the index code.
Is there anyway to make this work?

Todd, why not put the whole website in a folder in public_html. Then you can call the site (for embedding in another site? Eg mywesite.com/newsite) and index.html will know where to get its resources relative to its position?

I only need the index.html code to put in the other script, but there doesn't seem to be a way to use the index file outside of the same folder everything else is in. Most site/page builders i have used i can put all the style, image, and other files needed into a folder, then put the code for the index outside that folder and it still works.
This doesn't seem to be an option with website x5
Not in WX5 sorry.
