Launched Website Pro X5, and agreed to update. I can no longer access any previously saved sites. Nothing shows up in the project window. This is apparently due to a save fail. Something to do with a fonts .xml file. Yes I can load a backup, but not suffienctly updated for my needs. Really disappointed having been a strong supporter of X5 since it was created.
How do I change the folder settings for new projects? I intend to use an external drive which hopefully will preserve my originals and backups.

Steve, if you see no existing projects it sounds like the upgrade has changed to default location of your projects. You can change it back by selecting preferences at startup and browsing to your preferred location.
PLEASE allow WX5 to make a copy/backup when you first open existing projects.
Please do not work off an external device, USB external drives in particular are known to cause stability issues.
I believe you will find your old projects, but please take the opportunity to create an iwzip of each project (step 5 export project) and append the date. By all means store the iwzip on an external drive, this is a wonderful backup.
I create a new iwzip at the end of every major editing session (I also import from iwzip with every WX5 new release).

Just repoened website X5, and now I have no projects available. I have searched the PC and there is no trace of anything for 2022! Nothing, no backups, no sign of months of hard work. No response you come back with about folder changes etc will be any consolation. This product has been awesome for years, and like many others it's getting too clever for it's own good. This will be my last iteration of this software. Disappointed/annoyed doesn't even come close.
Probably the directory of projects in the WebsiteX5 settings has been changed. Try to search for files with the name project.iwprj2 on your computer and set the project folder in the program settings to the main folder that contains the folders with the project.iwprj2 files.
