My computer completely failed leaving me with no backups whatsoever. My websites are still running but I have no access to edit them. Can I recover them with the raw data files which I have downloaded from Godaddy. I am a novice at this.
I have 4 sites that I need to recover

Hello Stuart,
unfortunately the files available on the hosting space cannot be used to recover a project: only a project folder or an IWZIP file can be used for this purpose.

but is the hd permanently broken?
Because if the hd is still accessible somehow, you can recover your working folders... and you won't have to do anything again.
