This Sunday a new law is coming in to the UK concerning the use of Cookies on websites.

Extract from the BBC's website! - www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18194235

'The rules are designed to tackle privacy issues resulting from the growing use of cookies which track users' browsing habits. The guidelines, set by the EU, mean visitors must be told what cookies are being placed on their machine. “Some organisations may be made an example of in order to set the parameters of compliancy moving forward” Typically, this will mean a pop-up window seeking consent'

In what areas do cookies get used in X5 and is there any 'widget' planned that will give a website viewer the option to disable a cookie placement?

I am not sure of the detail of this act but it will be EU wide.

I am sure that this will affect the cart usage

this law states that you have to declare cookies that you have added in your website if they haven't been used for the correct function of your website. Website X5 only uses cookies that are necessary , so do not worry about it! Wink
