Problem with drop-down menus in V10  en

I have been using X5 for several years and just upgraded today to V10 from V9.

I now have a problem in V10 I have never had before in V9. When (for example in Advanced Settings) I click the "open drop-down list down arrow" at the right-hand-side of a drop-down selection box, the list opens: but when I move the mouse pointer to mouseover to the selection I want, the list disappears instead of staying open to allow a selection with the mouse. This happens in every drop-down box. So in order to make selections, I have to click the arrow to open the box, then use the down arrow on my keyboard to make a selection, which is driving me nuts.

Incidentally V9 still works perfectly, so I am going to carry on using it till this is fixed. In my opinion this is a serious bug and I do not like paying for beta-test software! This is a shame as the new features in V10 do look worth the cost of upgrade

Is there a javascript bug at work here?

Hello Geoffrey,

The selection is working without need of opening the dropdown menu with the arrows on the keyboard. Please try to uninstall and reinstall  the program again and check if it happends again.

Well then that begs the question as to why there is a drop-down arrow.

Yes. I can click the selection box instead of the drop-down arrow and the selections open. I have found that I can click the selection box and so long as I move the mouse extremely rapidly onto the various selections (e.g. colour palette) the selections sometimes do not close and I can then make the selection. But this behaviour is very unwelcome. For anyone without rapid hand movement it would be impossible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it makes no difference to this problem. I am not happy with this "upgrade". Will you please fix this problem?

You don't need a screenshot. It is many selection boxes throughout the entire program, although some seem worse than others. For example, click Advanced Settings, Main Menu, Menu Items tab: there are 6 selection boxes there. All behave the same. If you click in any box and move the mouse into the box that opens really quickly, it stays open so you can select a choice (for example, a colour shade). If you are less than very fast in moving the mouse, the box closes before you can make a choice and you have to start again. It's really irritating.

Hello Goeffrey,

I tried to duplicate it but it stay all the time open until i click outside. It is not closing if I move slow or fast. It closes only when I click outside but not on the movements of the mouse.

Well that's fine for you. All I know is that this worked perfectly in V9 and now it doesn't, which is information which cost me a lot of money to find out. There must be someone at Incomedia who knows what controls the behaviour of these dropdowns and how to correct it.

Are you going to fix this?

Also your latest posted upgrade does not install - gives a 406 error. I have tried it six times each time after a clean reboot. I am running XP SP3 and have never had any upgrade problems with previous versions of X5.

Not looking good at X5 these days.

Hello Geoffrey,

I will notify the issue you have and we will see how to duplicate it to find out why it happens to you.

About the 406 error try to check if the antivirus is blocking the program from being updated and alternatively you can download the updated installer from yuor answers.websitex5.com profile in "Downloads" and install it.
