Facebook Like Button (don't want comment)  en

I can put the Facebook LIKE button on my page and it seems to work as it should (though I have not fully tested it...I don't have a FB account). My problem is this: I have a small space in the lower right corner where I want it to be. When my wife clicks on it, it automatically wants to open up more dialog--a comment option--which there IS NO ROOM FOR and it shows up in a scroll box. I am not asking how to get rid of the scroll box--I know I would need to allocate more space for it to appear. I JUST DON"T WANT THE COMMENT BOX AT ALL and I can not see a way to stop it. I thought FB has a LIKE button that I see everywhere where a person can just click it real fast and move on without ever being prompted for a comment. How do I put a Facebook Like button on my website and in the widget specify I don't want a comment box ? Thanks !

Hello Chuck,

The Facebook like button in the program is the one provided directly by facebook and this function is automatically added in the code and cannot be changed.

This is set so by facebook to ask for a comment and it cannot be deactivated.

If you visit https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/ and you scroll down to the FAQ section you will see the comments are automatically active.

Many thanks!
