App crashing. v.10  en

Autor: Edward M.
Visitado 3462, Followers 1, Compartido 0

I get this when I preview a page. It comes up, stays gray for a second then crashes. ERROR NOTED AT END.

I have read all the "solutions", from removing and reinstalling NET, to preferences change processes to 1, to uninstalling x5 completely, deleting all folders and reinstalling. Increased my virtual ram from between 5000 to 20000 (5 gig to 20 gig).

The other errors, when you are in a page and try to click on a gallery box, the crash happens. I have had to delete the box and reinstall that box back up. Only workaround I have found. I run win 7 pro, 4 gig of ram, nvidia gtx640 2 gig ram.

This problem has been in this forum since May of 2013. Has there been a solution, finally? Thanks.

Hi Claudio. It did not help. Sometimes, when clicking the X to close the preview window, it simply gets all white, freezes. I have to click on the frozen window to exit the app with the usual windows message of "this program is not responding". It is happening a lot. Very frustrating.

I have updated my computer, so I had to do a clean install and followed all the steps above over and over again. I am using Win 7 ultimate 32 bit, 8 gig of ram, nvidia gt640 card, 4th. generation Intel i5 cpu.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Ted

Hello Edward,

In this case try to repair the .NET Frameworks by following these steps:

To repair the .NET Frameworks 3.5 and 4 you need as first to use following cleanup tool to remove .NET 4:
http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
Once done go to Control Panel then choose Programs and Features and then click on Turn Windows features on or off. Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1
This procedure can take some time to deactivate and activate .NET 3.5.1 and once done reinstall .NET 4 after downloading it from following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718

Please keep me updated.

Ok. I have run the utility to clean NET 3.51. Unchecked it within programs and features and restarted the pc, as prompted by it.

I then rechecked NET 3.51 and it did not request a restart. I installed the newest version of NET 4. It did not request a restart, but I restarted anyway.

Will update later.

Tks

Hello Edward,

In this case proceed to uninstall the program completely from your computer and then download the installer you find in your profile here on answers.websitex5.com under "Downloads" and then install the program again.

Please keep me updated.

Nope. I am fed up with the bug. I will uninstall it, but will install another program. I cannot do this to my clients. This issue has been around for many of YOUR customers for months and months.

Will continue to read your answers site until this is fixed.

Thanks for your time and your responses.

Super difficult. For framework 2.0, it tells me to turn on windows features, but inside, there is no option to enable frame 2.0..Only shows 3.51 in that window...so it closes and does not install.

Seriously, should it be this difficult to run your sofware?

Hello Edward,

the .NEt Framework 2 is not related to .NET 4.

Turn the .NET 3.5.1 off and then proceed to use the installer for .NET 2 and then enable .NET 3.5.1

The program needs these windows components to run correctly otherwise it cannot work correctly.

If these are corrupted then it is necessary to repair them.

Many thanks!

I downloaded the ms net repair tool. It fixed net. 4.51.

Now, unchecking the 3.51 box in turn windows features on off, the install for 2.0 still requests to go to  windows features on and and off and install after and then the install windows disappears.

I am repeating myself from my previous message....NO OPTION to install or check 2.0 exists in turn features on and off. I checked all other folders within features on and off and nothing is there regarding 2.0..

Going in circles with this installation.

Resorting to previewing gallery AFTER site is uploaded.

Hello Edward,

The issue seems to depend directly on Chromium and since the .NET Frameworks has been repaired and installed then there is program which is causing this behaviour in the preview in Chromium.

Are you using flash files in your project? What version of the flash player did you install in your computer?

Can you please try to uninstall the flash player ot see if then the samme issue happens again?

Many thanks!

Hi.

Adobe flash is updated as they are released. No flash files are being used. The .net framework (2, 3) are not installed. As I said, when installing 2.0, a window opens up telling me to authorize the installation via the turn windows features on and off. But no option there to click .net 2.0 installation.

The website is www.stcphuket.com. Feel free to navigate it.

I will uninstall flash and try.

A new issue, for the past 2 weeks, is having to activate the program over and over again. Just now again. Earlier this week too, if memory servers me right.

Regards,

Hello Edward,

Did you enable again .NET 3.51 from the control panel?

Let's see if this will install automatically also .NET 2 in your case. About the activation issue this can depend on the .NET Frameworks not working correctly.

Let's see if the enabling of .NET 3.51 will stop this issue. Please let me know if uninstalling flash stops the other issue you experienced.

Many thanks!

Hi. Yes, it is enabled. I just had to activate this program again today! 3.51 was already activated with the other activations.

Never had such major problems with a website development program, except this one.

I believe I have followed all of your instructions over and over again. I believe I have been very very patient and loyal.

That loyalty ends today. I am fed up.

Thanks for your quick replies and hints. I am off to another program

Edward, I just thought of something that might be worth checking out.  I had a problem with another software once, that kept crashing, or just wouldn't work.  After many attempts to fix it, I was fed up and just quit for a while.  Then I did something simple that fixed the probem.   What had happened, is that I had Norton Antivirus and it had been updating automatically.  I guess after one automatic update, it changed my settings for the program, so all I did was change the settings, and the program was working perfectly again.  This is what I did:  (you can check the firewall with any antivirus program, if you don't use Norton)

* Click on the Norton icon and go to the settings tab on the top left
* Click on the "Network" tab on the top
* Click on "Smart Firewall" on the lower left hand side
* Then click on "Progam Rules / configure" (line 2)
* Use the scrollbar on the right, or the down arrow in the scrollbar to scroll through the programs. There will be a line that says "Incomedia X5" and next to that, on the right, is a box that likely says "block" or "Auto"
Click the down arrow on this box and choose "allow"
* Then click "apply" and then "ok"
Exit out of Norton and load up Incomedia X5 and it should work fine now.

Just thought you could check this out to be sure your firewall is not the culprit.

Hi Lorien. Thanks for your comments.

I use AVG Inet Security, the pro version.

Both the Website x5 register and Website x5 update are all on allow. Under Incomedia Website x5 evolution, it is also on allow.

Regards,

Ted

Hello Edward,

Can you please try to disconnect the computer from internet and then disable the antivirus/firewall and then test the program again to see if the same issue continues to happen?

It could be related to the antivirus which tries to protect the preview browser and this causes the issue you experience.

Many thanks!
