X5 v8 on one computer X5 v10 on the other..........

I have recently purchased a new computer running Windows 8 and have downloaded and installed X5 Evolution v10.
My old computer runs Windows Vista and I have two websites that I built using X5 Evolution v8.
Can I open my v8 files in v10 or do I need to install v9 on the old computer, open and save the websites in v9 and then optimize and batch to folder from v9 in order to transfer them to the new computer and open using v10?

If you have V9 you can use it to transform your project, be aware on every version there are some issues see pdf links.
But if the project is not too big starting from scratch is sometimes better. You can take advantage of new items from the start.
If you dont have V9, Incomedia can help you, set the post to private and ask them to assist.

Thank you for your help.
I think it will be quicker for me to rebuild the sites in v10 rather than upgrade through two programs and resolve any issues (I'm not very computer literate).
This has been a useful reminder to keep my software up to date!
