I trolled through this hard to navigate blog for some help and found it after an hour!

If anyone has a similar problem it pays to open your project, hold your Control key down and at the same time click with your mouse on the X5 project 'review' button top right of screen.

This will clear the cache from x5 and be patient as it rebuilds the site for you.

Then you need to upload your site entirely to your web host. Don't just upload the last files you played with. And voila! Everything works fine.

The problem stems from the way you review your project as you build it in x5 . When you close the review screen down it saves the project automatically. The review and hence the save are overwritten by what's in cache. Particularly the JavaScript .

I discovered the issue when I tried to view an email online from the site and got a 'javascript not installed' error. On top of the slideshow just not showing.

So followed Michele C's from incomedias advice on the JavaScript and it worked for the slide show too (accidentally)
