I want to create a site without header and footer and so on. Just a blank page where I want to use a tabel to controll my content. I know it sounds wierd but anyway. Even when I choose an empty "template" it is not empty. And also I want to change the size - to about 850x650 pixels.
And do any know how I can create a background like on this page - from dark to ight in colour?
Thank you - Anna Louise

Hello Anna Louise,
Yes, this should be possible with WebSite X5. You haven't stated which version you are using but in version 11 the procedure would be as follows... do this for each page in your website which you wish to be 'blank':
Go to Step 2 Map Creation... Highlight the page you wish to work with in the 'Map' on the left, then click on the 'Properties' button on the right... in the new screen which appears click on the 'Graphic' tab...
Tick the checkbox entitled 'Create the page without the template'... note that in doing so you will completely override all the default settings for the X5 template currently in use... this gives you the blank canvas you are looking for.
You can use the rest of the fields to set both the Website Background and Page Content Background to white... it should be obvious enough how to do this... you can also alter the size of the page using the 'Page Width' box.
Lastly, as regards gradient backgrounds, I suggest using a free Gradient Generator such as this one:
http://gradcolor.com/
The code which it produces can be inserted into any page you wish in WebSite X5 using the 'Expert' tab (which is located to the right of the afore-mentioned 'Graphic' tab)
Kind regards,
Paul

Thank you Paul
But no matter what I do I only get a tekst on the background. I did create the right colour and it works as an example.
I have tried all things. I have evolution 11 in demo version. Can that be a problem? And could one of the other editions be better?
Kind regards,
Anna Louise
Could you post a screenshot of what you see please, Anna Louise?
I would like to help further but am a little unsure at this stage as to what part of the process has gone wrong for you... a screenshot would clarify.
Many thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul
Thank you so much. Now I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried a CSS gradient instead as it have different codes for different browsers. I works almost, but I can't get it behind the template - it eather goes in top of and the template beneath or it is not there or the template is gone and the gradient picture is repeating ( I put it to a high of 900 pixels). I think it should be in the style section but I have tried all possibilities. Because I am trying to get use to the program I have startet over 3 or 4 times but now I can't find any new way of doing it. And there is a tekst - the last was: This is the result - in the top to the left and that one i can't find in the codes, so it can't be deleted that way. Sorry for taking so much of your time.
Kind regards
Anna Louise
No need to apologise, Anna Louise... we are happy to help if we can
I have created a sample project with a gradient background, and attach a screenshot showing the gradient in the preview browser.
In my next post I will list the steps required to recreate this in WebSite X5.
1. Create your desired gradient background using the generator at http://gradcolor.com - I used the default settings, apart from setting the 'Height' to 640px - it's important that you set the height to your intended page size
2. Download the file which http://gradcolor.com creates - in my case the file was automatically named as ZPidu6.png
3. Go to the 'Graphic' tab of the Page Properties for the page in WebSite X5 which you would like to work on. Tick the 'Create the page without the template' checkbox
4. Under 'Website Background for this page only' tick the checkbox entitled 'Enable Custom Settings'. In the 'Image File' field just below, browse to the location of the PNG file which you saved earlier (in Step 1)
5. In the 'Repeat' field, select setting '2 - Horizontal repeat'
6. In the 'Alignment' field, select setting '2 - Top'
I've attached a second screenshot to illustrate these settings.
Good luck!

Dear Paul
Thank you very much - I am amazed over the good support from you. Actually late last night I figgured the same out - just I did put the gradient image as background for the generel page which is really what I want. Beautifull! I do hope it will be supported of different browsers.
Thanks a lot!
