Can't update project files from multiple computers
Auteur : Gene S.I'm using V11 on a PC with Windows 7. I tend to develop my website projects moving between two locations - my work and my home (also PC w/ W7) while I am building them. I have been unable to find a way to access the updated files from two separate computers. I have tried exporting the project from the #1 computer to a Dropbox file and then importing it into computer #2. It worked fine the first time. Computer # 2 imported the files and I continued to make changes, saved the file and then exported the adjusted file back to the Dropbox location. But when I import the file back into #1 it doesn't show any of the changes that were made. I have tried deleting the existing files from the Dropbox and then exporting the updated version, but that doesn't work either. So it seems that import/export functions are not really for that. I have tried copying the files from the Incromedia folder from it's default location on the harddrive to the Dropbox, but that doesn't work either. I even tried deleting the original file from the Dropbox before exporting the adjusted files and then importing them into the second computer. I'm not sure what else to try. Many thanks for any help.
Gene, when you creating a backup project, do not include the previews, also do not include the backup files, only if you are using webfont, include them inside your backup.
its better to each time rename your project file, then import in inside the program, add the version number or backup number or date at the end of the project name and each time change it.
I will promiss to work perfectly fine if you follow those steps

Thanks, Anthony. So it needs to see a completely different file name each time? Wow, that's not exactly effortless. I'll give it a try. I do appreciate the assistance.
you can keep the same name, just add a date at the end of it, that makes it easy at the same time useful for example projectx-2-12-2015

I need to edit sites on a number of computers and get round this by using the cloud service Bix. So long as you create your site using content on your Bix drive, and you save your project to you Bix drive, it will as synchronise so that any changes you make on 1 PC are made on the other.
