Evolution 10 - Image Map Editor  en

I am really happy with this software, it was one of the few which helped me as a layman to construct my own homepage on a domain I already owned, without a monthly charge. And on the plus side it has motivated me to be more and more artisitic and adventurous with the design.

So one of the things I was trying to do was to create fields within a picture, and use these fields as gateways to other webpages/text/galleries, such as you can with the contents of a cell. For example, the first page is a picture of a train, I want to make fields around each carriage of that train, and then from each carriage you can show text on mouse-over, or a different picture(gallery, or on clicking you can go to another webpage.

Is this possible in Evolution 10, or with a later version? I tried using a separate Image Map Editor tool to create the HTML, but either I  copied the HTML and .jpg file to my Evolution incorrectly, or it is not possible, because it didn´t work. Any ideas?

Hi Andre E,

Actually this is very close to what I am trying to do, thanks. I will need to practise a bit to fill in the missing steps, like how to easily have the table fit the page (I marked and adjusted the row and column width bit by bit), I´m sure there´s a quicker way. Also how to place the dot/image in the right place, and most of all, I want to place a field, not an image (dot) in the table. So that until you take the mouse over that field, the background picture is complete, without interruption. Do you know what I mean?

Regards....

Yes I know what you mean. But inside x5 this is the best way as far as I know, but you are right it's not easy. But once set up it can be useful.

For the picture you could try to use a picture that is totally transparant With the size of the cell and picture you can then adjust the change of mouse and link.

I'm not sure if this works I made this several years ago for a user with a similair question.

There is software on the internet thath can do similair pages but they cost mostly money and if it's suits or can be incorporated to your wish is then still questionable...

Just try, play around, if you have specific questions just ask.

You can make the table visible, then adjust untill it;s okey, remove the table borders or set them  transparant at the end.

BR André
