I have started my first project and reached Page Creation. I have inserted a picture on my first page using the image object, no problem. I can then drag the text object into the template but I don't get a cursor when I click Edit. I can set font style, size, etc, but can't type any text in. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Kelvin,
Can you please tell me which windows version you are using?
Have you tried to start the program as administrator with the rightclick to see if then it's possible to work on the text object?
Many thanks!

I am using 8.1
I tried starting as administrator but it still wasn't possible.
Hello Kelvin,
Try to repair the .NET Frameworks by following these steps:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and then click on OK.
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.5 and then click ok.
And then install also the Visual C++ 2010, 2013 and 2015 libraries from following link by choosing the X86 Version also if you use a 64bit system:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003
Once done try to start agai nthe program to see if the text object can be edited.
Many thanks!

In the turn windows features on or off, both of the .NET Franework items only had a little square block in them whereas other items did have a check mark. Anyway, I turned them both off then back on. However, when I tried to download and install Visual C++ 2010 from the page you gave me I got a message 'a compatible version of visual studio 2010 was not detected on this system. I still can't edit the text object.
Attached is a screeenshot of what appears to be installed on my computer.
Hello Kelvin,
Try to install the 2013 of Visual C++ from following link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Install the X86 version and then proceed to test it again.
Many thanks!

First chance I've had to do anything for a while, but this hasn't made a difference.
I don't know if this matters but I did upgrade to Windows 10 several months ago but then my network card wouldn't work. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to work so I rolled back to 8.1. This was before I installed Evolution 12. Also I have X5 Home 10 and that does work OK. I upgraded to Evolution 12 because I wanted the additional features.
Hello Kelvin,
What you can try is to install visual 2010 from following:
2010 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
and 2015 from following link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
As for before inastall always the x86 version.
If also this should not help it could depend on the rollback you did which probably currputed some windows components and a windows repair probably would help to solve the experienced issue.
Many thanks!
