Vat / Tax questions (multiple questions)
Auteur : Lauren W.Forgive me if this is a double post, I thought I wrote this earlier but I could not find it
I am working in the shopping cart, and I have a questions about vat. I think VAT is the samething as tax, is there anyway I can change that word to tax (for us US users) Or is there a tax option I am over looking?
Part 2 of the question is I see three options for vats, but I do not like eaither. 1 is no vat (tax) the 2nd includes the tax with the over all price, and the third includes the price on the product page.
IE price of item is $1, if I go with option 3 vat excluded then on the shopping page it shows the price as $1.07. I want the product/shopping page to say $1 and during check out it show the tax. I am dealing with large numbers ($747) and I am telling people who come into our store that the price is $747, but when they get online it says something like $803

after a lot of digging I found this that worked for changing it to "tax" not Vat.

Have not found the answer to my 2nd question though
Hello Lauren R.,
Option 3 is used when you want to add the price without VAT of the products so the program calculates automatically the VAT. You need to use in your case option 2 (VAT included) and then during the checkout you will have as product price $1 and it will show also the ammount of VAT.
Many thanks!

I have a item for 449.00 when you add tax to it the gran total should be 482.67
If I include vat (option 2) they only pay 449.00.
It visually looks better if they see 449.00 on the shopping page and only see the tax when at checkout.

I forgot to mention, my website is live (against my better judgement) so you can see what I mean (tax excluded on website) www.publichardware.com (go to furniture/instock)

I SEE says the blind man, so sorry. You see I was looking at option 4 - advance settings - shoping cart when I should have looked at option three like you said. Thank you for your help
