+ sign not allowed in form telephone numbers

I first posted this idea 3 years ago. I wonder if there has been any progress?
If I want to limit the field in the email form to a telephone or fax number, I am only allowed to include numbers and "-" and " ". In the UK, at least, international dialing codes start with "+". Can I suggest you add "+" to the permitted characters?

Hello Duncan,
The developers are still taking the suggestion in consideration but unfortunately I cannot tell you if and when a specific function will be added in the program.
You can still use the 00 instead of + since it has the same function.
