Pro 14
Auteur : Marius T.Hi
I am the owner of the new version, Pro 14.
Oh, my God ...
The program is totally new, a lot of new functions seems to be developed as the new look and ergonomy. Importing and converting Pro 12 projects failed, the layout is changed after importing the old projects and more, there are some html errors displayed. Hm ...
The Pro 12 was extremly logical structured but for the beginning I cannot say the same about Pro 14. We'll see in the next days.
First detail that I have observed is that the side menu - see attach - is no longer an option. The new menu object ... I am confused. Very complicated. The parallax effect seems to be amazing but I failed to set it up.
The "extend to the row lenght" option seems to be useless because I could do the same in Pro 12 version without this setting.
Anyway, it is an amazing work of Incomedia Team here, congratulations.

sorry for double post but it seems the attach cannpt be displayed so the side menu I am talking about can be found here on the left side on the layout: http://softedu.eu/autocad-2015-.html
In the "pro" version is it possible to fully manage the site for customers?
If the client wants to change the developer or decides to fill the site himself with information, how to be it because of the lack of intelligent CMS (Content management systems)?
Auteur
Seems that the client must buy the software in order to do this. It is logical do be like that. It not a full CMS system.

The old menu had an excellent option: keep always visible.
In 14 version the option is no mor elonger available, but we can find a "sticky bar". Another thing to be set. And ugly and with bad function. More I dig less I like 14 version.
The only thing I like until this stage it is 64 bit. And the images that can be customized in header for different resolutions.
I have waiting so long for this version ... and now I chaos and disappointment.
Seems that Incomedia wil fall in the old trap of software developer: every version all is changed, wich is boring and confusing and you get tired untl you find the place and form they moved an old (and the same) option or tool or command.
Adobe had a very good strategy: the old commands where exactly in the same place every version, the new ones - of course, in new places. Workspace is the same every version, no new forms of buttons, no new useless graphic style ...
I will take care of my Pro 12 amazing version.
Marius, please explain what is the issue with the side menu that is difficult. I have imported a number of projects that use the side menu, when first preview a toaster menu generally appears where the proper menu should be, to fix it, simply go to step 4, page and make the cell a little wider.
As for parallax, you have V13, did you master this feature in that?
It works exactly the same but with more features (eg slideshow) in V14
Please detail the issues and I am sure we can assist - even the sticky menu is quite straight forward, just as the "keep always visible" in V13 & V12 was simple but far more limited.

Hi, Eashc
There where a lot in my message.
Well, talking about side menu: as I said earlier the side menu in my attach could be placed very simple by checking only an option. Here is more complicated, everything is more complicated. much more. Even the fact you need to place the side menu on every page.
Can you do it in Pro 14 like in Pro 12 with one checking click?
Hello Marius,
The menu changed completely in the new version and now, since it is a standalone object which can be placed on every point on pages or template, it cannot be longer managed from one central setting since it behaves like every other object and this require to manage it individually.
Many thanks!
The old menu had an excellent option: keep always visible.
In 14 version the option is no mor elonger available, but we can find a "sticky bar". Another thing to be set. And ugly and with bad function. More I dig less I like 14 version.
Hello Marius,
This function is still available: Template ---> click on your side menu and selct the always visable box

Hello Jan
There is no such an option in Template section, at least I can't find it. The one you are talking about is the Side Bar but my menu is horizontal not vertical. The fonts in the menu of the converted page (from 12 to 14) are now bold text ...
Thank you!
Marius, the sticky bar now has identical functionality to the main menu/header, it should (can) look the same as your V12 site or it can be tailored to your requirements for each resolution, plus it can be set to browser width and can include a logo and other features if you wish.
It seems to offer more functionality to me.
. . . . but it is different :-)
BTW did you get a handle on parallax images? They work exactly the same (but with more functionality) as V13. If you are having difficulty, let us know?
Auteur
Thanks Esahc, I have seen the sticky bar. I don't like the option at all.
The worst part is that about that side menu that can't be set once for all pages with one click as Claudio wrote earlier.
SECOND: where they have moved "import google fonts" option? seems to be nowhere ...
Auteur
How can I set this- red marked - with one click in the new improved version of Pro 14? Oh, and Google Fonts, where did they hide the option?
Off topic - I wish to pay twice on a 64 bit version of Pro 12 wich is amazing.

I has expecting that the option "extend to the browser window" to extend the rows exactly to the browser window.
Seems that is another useless option because the "extend" is made from border to border of main div. You cannot set the left and right margins to zero so the content will flow from left to right side of window.
Google fonts are the easiest.
Select font (for anything), down the bottom you will see Other Font Types, click on add, select the google font you want, click OK, done. This will add the font globally for the whole project.
However, this font will only be available for this project, you will need to do the same for other projects needing the font.
With WX5 you can design your website for specific widths, if we could set the site to browser width then the whole architecture of WX5 would need to change to "dynamic" over which you would have limited control over object placement and text line breaks.
Since you are using V14 pro you could add as many additional breakpoints up to 1920 and beyond if you wish to offer your users a full screen, full browser width experience.

Hi Eashc
First of all Google Fonts are indeed easy to add. Regarding the browser width it is a little confusing: I should set the width exactly as I set the width of the header image. In other words the left and right columns are bothering me. So in this case where one can use the "set to browser width" option?
Your help is always precious, many thanks

Oh ... Esahc, and the parallax effect. I can see nothing changed. I have a row of text and a row with image. Scrolling is exactly like usual.
Marius, apart from the page background you can only set browser width on the sticky bar and the background "row formats" (parallax) option. As you stated, you cannot set browser width for the page content (or header). The left and right columns on the outside of the page you are stuck with, but you can minimise them as I discussed above.
With parallax, the trick is to have a largish area in which to observe the parallax movement. This can be achieved by having lots of text, a significant number of carriage returns or multiple rows of cells selected behind which you place your image or whatever. This example (V13) has parallax http://gippslandsinkers.com.au/ and to a lesser extent, so does this http://www.thinkfeelinghighperformance.com/
With V14 you can of course include not just an image but other effects

Yes, the mistake I made every time was to include the image in the background of the text. It is working now, thank you!

About http://www.thinkfeelinghighperformance.com it seems that the menu is made from links to anchor points which I believe is not possible in Pro 14. The page inside we can se the "action" is the same index page.
Marius, you are correct, the website is a single page. It is all done in V14 (much easier than previous versions).
I set the header to the same height I required for the menu (so there is effectively no header), for each "page" I required I added a level and used the properties of the level to point at an anchor in a cell on the page.
Any cell in WX5 can easily have an anchor added.
The advantage of single page websites is that on mobiles only one page is loaded and navigated around, it makes for a much better experience for the user, and of course when exiting the site, one click does it, whereas on a multipage site you have to exit every page you have looked at.

Oh, indeed ...
Yes, it is possible to build a menu manually from words that send to an anchor link, it is so simple. I believed that the Menu Object is made from anchor links. My mistake and thank you.

Hi Esahc
Looking again at your great example I have played my Pro 14 settings and found how easy it can be to have all content in the same page, with anchor links.
However, will you be so kind to explain the way you realized "Think Feeling High Performance" section? Because there you have some links (Mission, How, Angie ...) that seems to be opened inside the same container (how do you call the same Div or the same Cell) the text flowing from the right as you click the link. I have "digged" inside Pro 14 but I have no clue about the way you did it.
Thank you!

Forgot to attach it, the question is more clear now.
Marius, since you also have Pro, you can add tabs to any text object cell (also tables). Simply place a text object in a cell, then click on the new tab button. You can have multiple layers of content (including images) in the one cell.
So into each tab you can put whatever you like and let the user select as well as have it change automatically or as a slide show. These changes are made in the Tab Style (top right).
Think Feeling High Performance is simply a text object with 3 tabs, the same phrase with a different word highlighted in each tab, and I turned on slide show without labels or navigation.
The logo under contact also uses this trick, but in this case the graphic was added as a background image under Object Style before adding the text in 2 separate tabs in the text object.
Enjoy!!!

Esahc ... I would not find it by myself in 500 years despite all options are there, clear and visible.
Thank you I really appreciate this help. The Tab option is a great way to improve may website.
Marius, I am pleased you have the answers you have been looking for, and the concerns of your first few posts have been well and truly dealt with, and it wasn't hard at all :-)
Don't forget to post your site here under User Websites when it's complete.
