Program hangs when "Initializing project files"

I have just purchased Evolution 15. When trying to start a new project using an existing template the program freezes or hangs with just the message "Initializing Project Files". How can this be overcome as I am a new user and this is not a very good start to using the program or having confidence in it.

Hi Bill,
The Initialization proces can take some time, but for a new project it can't be more than 1 or 2 minutes.
I've been using the program since version 7 and haven't experienced this problem yet, so there must be a logical explanation for this issue.
What's your setup (Windows version, internal memory, disk space, what anti-virus software is runing)?
