Shopping Cart and Multiple Discount Codes  en

Hello again,

I am also posting this as I have questions about how to set up the Discount Code for full order purchases.

More specifically, I am wanting to know if it is possible to set up Multiple Discount Codes for Shopping Cart purchase that applies to the entire cart.

I wasn't sure if this were possible with X5, so I am asking anyone who knows if it is.  I see the option to add a Discount Code for each item, and then I see the option to Enable a Coupon Code for the Order in the "Options" tab in the Shopping Cart setup.

However, is it possible to create multiple Coupon Codes with different discounts or percentages applied?  I wasn't sure if this were possible.

ALSO, with my current website, I tend to offer discounts like "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" and "Buy 3 Get 5 Free" but not sure if you can create a "Buy x Get x Free" type discount code in X5 or if it is only based on percentage or fixed dollar amount.

Any help in providing me information as to how to create Multiple Coupon Codes, as well as a workaround to create "Buy x Get x Free" discounts with the items is greatly appreciated.

Hi German.

You can create custom coupons for a single product or for the whole order, but your customer cannot make use of more than one per single order, if that's the result you're trying to achieve.

You can specify a coupon code per item or a general one for the order, but only one can be inserted at confirmation time.

As of now, I'm afraid there is no way to achieve something such as Buy 1 get 1 free. You can apply a discount for multiple units of a single product, which means you should sell something like "Rock Pack" which costs 6 and includes 3 tracks that together cost 8 for example. Which implies that you have to create another product which is really a bundle.

Let me know if I can help you clarify any other doubt.

Thank you

Stefano

Thank you again Stefano for your assistance with this matter.  I actually wouldn't be trying to create the option to enter multiple codes to be entered during purchase.  But I'm not sure of the best way to create the codes as it seems a bit confusing.

I'm mainly looking to do something such as the following (and these are fake codes, though gives you the scenario I'm aiming for by multiple codes):

TWEET15  (using this code for anyone I promote my product to on Twitter to enter it at checkout for a 15% OFF order)
FB15OFF  (using this code for anyone I promote my product to on Facebook to enter it at checkout for 15% OFF order)
EMAIL20  (using this code for anyone I promote my product to via email blast to enter it at checkout for 20% OFF order)
BOOM50  (using this code for anyone I promote my product to by Ads to enter it at checkout for 50% OFF full order)

See how I'm creating various different codes to enter at checkout that different customers may be able to use?  I'm not sure how I would go about creating different codes, and if some of them can have expirations dates to them and others be indefinite expirations.

Is there an email address for the team that is in charge of suggestions and implementing suggestions?  I'd like to contact them with some suggestions such as the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" type codes for potential future updates.

Thank you kindly for your help.  Look forward to hearing from you as to how I'd go about setting up multiple coupon codes.  Thanks again.

Hi German.

I can confirm that at the moment, you can only proceed this way. You can have as many codes as you like PER single product ( but at checkout time the customer can always use only one PER order ), or create a single one for the whole order.

It is not possible to have multiple different coupon codes for the whole order at this time.

About you idea, I surely believe it could be helpful for other users.

In order to better keep track of it, proceed this way: Create a new topic and mark it as IDEA. Explain in details your idea, and this way, it will be easier for us to keep better track of it when the developers will be discussing the future of the software.

I hope I've been helpful

Stefano
