I'm sorry you are so disappointed. The two versions are different because Evolution 8 works with XHTML 1.0 (created in 1994), Evolution 9 works with HTML 5 (created in 2011). This is a huge difference. You can run both programs on the same computer at the same time but if you delete your Evo 8 you will not be able to install it again because you have installed it's upgrade.
We have removed things concerning flash and other similar old technologies that now belong to the past, HTML 5 is the future.
The images can still be cropped, our image editor has been hugely improved: you can now apply filters, watermarks, effects and so on. There are 200 new functions in the program, you can see them here http://www.websitex5.com/en/what-s-new.html#passo_1
Evolution 9 was tested for two months before it's release and it has been updated constantly according to our user needs. We are going to release another update shortly and we have opened a section called ideas especially for you. If you need something in the program or you think it could be done differently, post and idea and our technical team will analyse it. We do our best to help you and to create what you need.

Hi Samantha.  This still doesn't address the features that are missing in the new release.  This includes cropping images.  Cropping doesn't work anymore and another issue I found right away is inner popups are not included anymore when creating a gallery.  These are very important to a lot of the websites I design and the ones I will be designing in the future.  If you have any other suggestions as to what I can do to fix these problems in the new release,  I welcome your help.

Hi Samantha.  Ok I think I figured out the inner popup but I've noticed something else.  When the "File or URL with showbox" is enabled and the file is a video,  I preview the gallery with the link and the video starts playing.  When I go to close the movie mid stream,  the show box goes away but the video remains.  Is this intentional or is this a glitch?

A few more things of note with the new version (Beta).

The "Gallery Object"  , "file or URL with Showbox" with a file link has to be fixed.  If there is a movie linked to the show box,  and you want to click on another one with the movie mid stream,  the movie remains,  but the show box disappears.

The "Styles and Models" , "Showbox" Tab,   you should be able to place the showbox on the top or center or bottom.  Right now you can't.  It just shows in the middle.  I would much rather have it on top.

What happen to the page transitions effects?  They are gone.  Must bring this one back. See attached image.

first of all, for how long does your video remain in your page? If it stays only for a few seconds it is normal or else it depends on the browser you are using.

The transition effects have been removed because they where old, also microsoft does not use them anymore.

I'm not talking about transitions.  It works fine with the old software.  This is getting frustrating.  I still haven't been able to use my new and paid for upgrade.  You have to please help with this.  I can't seem to upload an image.  Please supply an email so I can send you the problems in an image.

You can crop an image following these istructions:

1. Add an image object in your page.
2. Double click on it to enter the image object and select a picture.
3. Click on the "Edit" button in the lower window's corner.
4. In the editor's window make sure the "Cut and Rotate" tab is selected, then select the area to cut with the mouse.

Inner popups are included of course. You can activate them from each gallery options or directly in any link options.

This is normal if the video stays visible for few seconds and then it disappears. If the video always stays visible after closing the showbox, it can be a browser related issue. In this case, can you link us your site? If it's not yet visible on the Internet, can you upload it in a subfolder of your domain?

The showbox is always placed in the middle of the screen. There are no options about its position at step 4. The alignement option shown at step4 is related to the description text shown inside the showbox itself.

No this is not normal.  When I use V8.0,  it works fine.  The window disappears when it should.  What is going on here?  Why can't you guys give me a straight answer as to what is going on?

BTW.  Have you tested this?  What is it doing for you?

Yes, I've tested it and this problem does not happen on my PC. It could be a problem related to the Flash Plugin too. Does this issue exist also when the site is online and using different browsers?
