Max project size without making software v16 unresponsive  en

For a long time I'm looking for a solution to the problem:

Website 16 (15) extremely slow operation while editing project of significant size about <2GB.

While older version (v12) is allowng for fluent edition (!), the newest versions of Website (v15 and v16) are not allowing for normal edition, the same PC i7 is working >1 minute on full rpm's to show preview.

Does anybody knows by practice what is the max. project size beyond which the newest Website is not allowing for efficient operation ?

Krzysztof

Krzysztof, if your website performed quite quickly in v12, but not in v16, have you considered running Optimizer? (especially if your project has many images)?

If you are making changes to menu, header, footer or sidebar, v16 will initially appear slow but performance will return when these features that affect all pages at multiple resolutions require less modification.

Hi Esahc,

The idea of using Optimizer was proposed some time ago by another colleague from INCOMEDIA.

I have already implemented OPTIMIZER: no effect at all, sftware is slow as previously.

The only version I can use until now - for practical reasons is version 12.

With best regards,

Krzysztof

Krzysztof, is there any chance you have empty cells on the page/s? If so, add an html object in every empty cell or row of cells (no need to add content). Does that help?

Hi,

Some time ago I aready went through process of empty cells removal - does not help.

Is there any chance that new version 17 will work with the same performance as version 12 ?

I used other versions: 13, 14, 15, 16 - same slow.

With best regards,

Krzysztof

Hi Krzysztof

This can greatly depend on the project, there is unfortunately no defined size or structure to determine whether or not your project is going to benefit from the latest version.

I suggest you consider upgrading to the newest version and test it out. Should it still not be satisfying for you, you always have 30 days time to request a refund for it, should it still not be good enough for you

Please try this and let me know what you think

Thank you

Stefano
