Hi
After last update, background images (see attached photo) does not appear correct in mobile versions.
You can see what I mean at the first page of my website www.corniza.gr .
Please fix this problem in order my site to look well to my customers.

Hi Nassos.
I've verified the page you mentioned, but it is kinda hard for me to understand exactly where to search for the issue without further explanation by you. Could you perhaps give me a little more details on this?
From your screenshot though, I can already see a major problem with your website. You have an enormous amount of blank cells in your page. Leaving cells blank dramatically slow down your software and might lead to several performance issues when previewing. Additionally, it could cause problems with the layout like the ones you seem to be having now.
Please either remove those blank cells from every page for good or at least fill them in with empty text objects. You'll notice a major improvement after this
Keep me posted on this
Thank you
Stefano

I already remove almost all blank cells and the software is much faster!
About the problem.
In desktop version if you clik the button "Links" you will see the background image "links" and the words "Χρήσιμα Links !" at the same level.
If you try to see same thing at the mobile version the background image is upper than the words "Χρήσιμα Links !"
That is happening with all buttons of this page!
Waiting for your reply,
Nassos
Hi Nassos.
I believe this is so due to the way the background images are cut and positioned at different resolutions.
Perhaps modifying the image so that it fits better all the breakpoints could improve the situation, but I doubt it could be considered an actual problem since the calculations are done automatically and you cannot really set the image to remain like that at every resolution.
Alternatively, you might wanna consider rethinking the design of the background image so that it better suits the purpose you're trying to reach
Please review this information and let me know how the situation changes
Thank you

Hi Stefano,
Please see the attached two photos
Photo 1 (software preview) is the software preview of version 2019.1.6. This is also how my website looked like at my mobile phone before last update.
Photo 2 (real view) is the actual view of my website at my mobile phone. (I guess also to your mobile phone).
This is obviously a software mistake.
Please fix it as soon as you can. My website looks to my customers... ...unprofessional...

Hi Nassos
Unfortunately, by simply checking your online website I cannot really find a reason for this. I would like to analyze your project directly for you if that's okay with you.
You can use the service https://wetransfer.com/. Select the link generation and paste it here, so I can download the file. If the file is too big, please don't include the folders preview and backup files when you create your IWZIP file with WebSite X5.
Please send it over to me here since the topic is already private
Thank you
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
Where is the link generation ?

Hi Stefano,
I already sent via wetransfer the file WebSite X5 - Projects.iwzip which is 118 mb. Following there is the link that you can download the file. I hope this is what you asked for.

Hi Nassos
Thank you for the file project and detailed explanation
I proceeded to forward the project and matter to the developers, so that it can get analyzed properly
I will be sure to report here to you as soon as news on the matter becomes available
Thank you for your patience
Stefano
Hi Nassos.
I've received word from the developers.
I can confirm that the result you're getting now is not due to a bug in the software but to a recent change in the software's functionality that came with 2019.1
Since the parallax effect was presenting major issues on mobile phones, it has been disabled. For this reason, it will no longer work on touch mobile phones. This causes the effect you're seeing now.
Since you're using the parallax effect on those images in order to get that effect, it will only work on Desktops or non-touch devices, while it simply can no longer work on phones.
I hope I made the matter a little clearer for you, but please let me know here if I can provide any further insight on this
Thank you

Hi Stefano,
I am disappointed with the 2019 version of the software.
The 2019 version is a huge step backward compared with the 2018 version for parallax effect at smartphones and tablet devices.
Please inform me if there is a way for me to remove the 2019 version and go back to the 2018 version in which the parallax effect worked fine.
Nowedays almost all people are using smartphones... ...and the small minority that uses non touching mobile devices are not interested in internet websites...
Practically the parallax effect of the 2019 version is useless and problematic for users of tablets or smartphones.
So I have to set this post as public ,in order to inform and protect other users form using or updating to the new version of the software.
Thank you
Nassos
(It > En) ... if you are interested, you could solve with my invention, which you see applied >here.
... to achieve a similar result you must:
1) - remove the parallax background from the first row;
2) - put a fixed background image on the page;
3) - when you have made the changes notify, so that I can check, and then I continue with my appropriate instructions;
...!... if you don't care, ignore what I said ...!...

Hallo,
Thank you for your interest.
I want to put many images on the background. Not just one.
I also wait for the official reply of Incomedia. I hope at least to give me a way to GO BACK to the 2018 version that worked well!!!
Ciao.
Hi Nassos
I can surely understand the trouble this might cause right now, but be aware that the functionality has been removed due to the fact that it simply isn't yet fully supported by all mobile phones and it could cause major display issues on many devices due to the low optimization mobile phones have for parallax.
To go more in the detail with the changes:
1_ Parallax n°1: The effect was improved but disabled for both Edge and IE, since the result was not satisfying enough and could cause major flickering on both browsers.
2_ Parallax n°2: The effect was improved slightly, but it was already working okay before
3_ Parallax n°3: The effect was improved for Edge in particular and should now work just fine. The effect was removed in IE since the result was not satisfying enough and could cause major flickering on the browser
The choice to disable the parallax for Edge and IE or for IE only in those particular circumstances comes from the fact that, contrary to before, it is now possible to activate the effect and have most browser users appreciate the effect without damaging others.
If before you were forced to turn the feature off because it would prove to be choppy on certain browsers, now it will simply not be displayed on those same browsers, thus not ruining the experience for the Edge/IE users, while still offering something more to users of the other browsers. This is also true for mobile phones
Keep in mind that if you kept an older version (IWZIP copy or the old project files) of the project from v17, you will still be able to use it if you wish to
Keep me posted here if I can provide any further information on this
Thank you for your understanding

Hi Stefano,
The more we talk about new version the more is my disappointment...
I did not ask you to inform me about the details of the problem. I ask for a solution. Yes I have older version v17 of the software but since then my site is double size...
Also since this functionality has been removed, why there are the parallax options at the carent version (2019.1.7)? Also why when I ask for preview for mobile devices it looks to work?
You have to make a software that allows the downgrade of the carent version or to fix the software so it will work.
Waiting for your reply.

Nassos,
I have implemented something KolAsim suggested in his post above. The background image is always centered and of the same height, is only proportionally cut on the sides with different screen resolutions. I have implemented his solution on the page I’m working on. You can check how it works opening ownitconsignment.com and select “SELL” from the menu.
Based on KolAsim’s code mentioned above, I wrote a routine which always shows the background image “in full” – as the original. With the resolution change, the image scales down or up. You can see the result selecting “SELL experiment” on my page and play with the width of the page.
Just mu two cents as an addition to KolAsim’s response…
(-) Tom
(By the way, KolAsim's code also works with the full width slide show as a background - see my HOME page).
... hello Tom, ... > great! ...... (bring the image up to 150 KB) ... ...
.
@Nassos K.
I created the effect of the Image List (or sequence of images) in the Row Style, making it responsive,
without the use of any extra-code, only using almost square images. The images used by me in the example
below are 1920 x 1600 px (almost square). What is important is the height and width of the images!!
The online example is here, try narrowing and enlarging the browser window:

Ciao
Hi Nassos
I apologize once again for the trouble this might be causing you, but I'm afraid that the only real way you can take if you wish to have the effect back online on your website is to reload the old version of your website and continue there.
As you can imagine, projects cannot be downgraded due to the fact that the newest versions of the software apply edits to it that the older versions would be capable of handling.
The possibility of re-adding this functionality back to the software once it is considered fully stable on mobile has already been notified to the developers so that it might be reconsidered once it is working flawlessly on most devices. Since this cannot be considered a problem to solve or in need of a solution on the software itself, it will be necessary to wait until further compatibility is guaranteed by mobile devices for this effect.
In the meantime, every compatible device will display the Parallax effect just fine, without breaking the experience for the other users like it would happen before, even though some users could experience it just fine
I hope I made the matter clearer as to why such a decision was taken
Thank you for your understanding
Stefano
@Giuseppe,
I like the way the background (slide show) behaves when resizing the window on the Home Page!
Could you explain how did you do that?
Thanks!
@Tom G.,
those images were processed using Photoshop (or any other graphic software):
the main image is in the foreground and then the same image is enlarged and used as the background of the first image and blurred with the "blur" filter. I am attaching images to help you understand better. I didn't use any extra code.
P.S. of course, to get the effect of the sliding photos I used the "Image List" function in the Rows Style of Website X5
Thank you, Giuseppe! Another idea worth consideration!
(It > En) ... this is a different thing, in fact it is already included in the program, ...but!
1) - it is not the background of the page;
2) - is not fixed on the page;
3) - has no rational relationship;
Hello, ciao

Dear all,
With all the respect, you are trying to help me , but you are giving solution for a different problem...
Anyway thank you for your interest.
Dear Stefano G,
Please inform me what incomedia did in order to inform it's customers that the parallax effect is not working on mobile devices with touch screen?
Until now I did not received an email informing me about that huge problem.
Are you going to inform your customers about it?
Awaiting for your reply.
Nassos
Hi Nassos.
Since the issue with the bad performance had been reported and discussion by and with many users on some major topics in the Help Center, this decision has been taken in order to provide the best experience with Parallax for every browser/device that supported it while not ruining the experience for the others.
This has been notified in the changelog as well, which is visible whenever you update your software version through the automatic updated integrated in the software as well as the Update topics posted here on the Help Center:
https://www.websitex5.com/changelog/v2019.1/en.php
As I already mentioned before, the possibility of re-adding this functionality back to the software once it is considered fully stable on mobile has already been notified to the developers so that it might be reconsidered once it is working flawlessly on most devices. You should let the user decide whether to use it or not! You can't remove this just because some users are complaining. :(

Ηι Stefano,
Obviously you are joking...
Please take a look from the following image taken from the email from incomedia to me dated May 25 2019.
Check the Mobile Friendly line!
" MOBILE FRIENDLY: Your website will always look perfect on any device"
I would like to have a reply from incomedia about this email.
Nassos
Hi Nassos.
Unfortunately, I really am afraid that there is nothing else that can be done for this at this time but report the necessity and wait for it to be further analyzed.
The line you mentioned is but a simple confirmation of the statement I made before:
"Since the issue with the bad performance had been reported and discussion by and with many users on some major topics in the Help Center, this decision has been taken in order to provide the best experience with Parallax for every browser/device that supported it while not ruining the experience for the others."
"The choice to disable the parallax for Edge and IE or for IE only in those particular circumstances comes from the fact that, contrary to before, it is now possible to activate the effect and have most browser users appreciate the effect without damaging others.
If before you were forced to turn the feature off because it would prove to be choppy on certain browsers, now it will simply not be displayed on those same browsers, thus not ruining the experience for the Edge/IE users, while still offering something more to users of the other browsers. This is also true for mobile phones"
This has been done exactly to be able to provide an always perfect experience with any website on any device, and this wasn't so before since many devices just couldn't display the effect properly. This is thus absolutely true
Once again, I apologize once again for the trouble this might be causing you, but I'm afraid that the only real way you can take if you wish to have the effect back online on your website is to reload the old version of your website and continue there or wait for a future improvement of this aspect too, as soon as every device will able to properly display this
Thank you for your understanding
Stefano
