I am stuck on silly. Have created a blog, but when trying to access it, I get a blank page. Also when using a dynamic object, I am never asked for the user credentials. When I am using the control panel admin part, I am asked for the credentials. After entering the credentials I keep getting asked for credentials.

Yes, I have use the lock page thing.

Yes a folder was created with write privileges

I am using version 12.

Hello Errol,

Is the website you refer to online?  If so, could you please post a link to it.  That would be helpful.

Kind regards,

Paul

One other thing, the events link is where the dynamic object is. It's not asking for credentials.

So...... all my other issues are sorted. Now when the user goes to the events page, they are being prompted for credentials. I want the site visitor to view the data that has been entered, only the person with credentials can make changes. http://getitwright.net/2019excelsior

Thank you for the link, Errol.

I want the site visitor to view the data that has been entered, only the person with credentials can make changes.

In this case you will need to ensure that the page in which your Dynamic Content Object is located is unlocked...  i.e. it does not have a padlock icon next to it when shown in the Sitemap in Step 3.

Please be aware that setting up access management for privileged users who can view certain locked pages, and access for privileged users who can edit the contents of the Dynamic Content Object, are two separate things.  The former you define in Step 1 Settings > Access Management....   the latter is defined by editing the Properties of the Dynamic Content Object, for example by double-clicking it where it is placed on the page in Step 4, and then checking or unchecking the usernames who are permitted to edit the object, or otherwise.  The list of users which you can choose from here will be the same group of users that you defined in Step 1.

The following is very important:

To allow enabled users to log in, you must remember to add the necessary field in the website, using, for example, the "Login/Logout" option object. Remember that the optional objects can be managed in the Objects Management window. If an enabled user has not logged in, the contents of the Dynamic Content Object are treated as normal text and it is not possible to click on the object to start the built-in online editor.

Hope that helps.
