Dear Community,

I have, at some point, added a 4GB video file into the website for experimental reasons. After I removed the video from the page again I thought it was gone.

However, each time when I upload the website onto the server I am greeted with that 4GB file on the upload stream. I have checked all possible locations within the website where I would have forgotton to take it out but found it nowhere. Is it somehow possible to just delete it from the whole project without knowing where it is?

The error persists when exporting, using on a other PC and after the update of WX5...

I am using Website X5 pro, latest version (2019.03.16)

Allthough it doesnt stop me from uploading the website, I always have to abort the upload progress when all files but the video are uploaded. I also tried uploading the video aswell but WX5 will continue to upload that video.

I would appreciate your help.

Cheers

Yannic

Noack, please go to step 5, export project to create an iwzip

Now restart WX5 and import your iwzip file (this will not overwrite your existing project), now try upload. Did it include the "phantom" mp4?

Dear Esahc,

I had already tried this earlier and tried it again just now. It still includes the file...

Cheers

RESOLVED!

If you open the project folder in your explorer and search for the file you are willing to remove it will show up. Just delete it and you are done!

Excellent that you fixed the problem but a bit sad that you had to resort to brute force. It would be great if Incomedia could come up with a procedure to automatically purge unnecessary files.

Yeah. Some things in WX5 are not as good as they could be. But there has certainly been a lot of great progress over the past 4 years. When I started, it was quite a mess to work with. There was also a time when WX5 would always crash. But luckily that lies in the past and the present version is working fine (if you don't tinker with 4gb mp4 files :D)

Thanks for your help @Esahc
