Hi.
We are using PHP 7.4.6.
We never receive an e-mail from the contact form.
Do you have any idea what the cause can be.
Kind Regards,
Patrick

Hello. Go to the site admin area and test different types of mail scripts.
When you find a suitable one, then specify these settings in the program settings.
If you do not find a suitable script, then check the mail settings on the hosting.
Do not use mail like GMail. Use mail with your domain.

Neither proposal work. Why did it work in the past and not anymore?
"Neither proposal work. Why did it work in the past and not anymore?" - maybe something has changed on the hosting.Try PHP 7.3, 7.2.Try sending emails from your hosting's mail web interface.Does the mail work?

The mail work when somebody sends a mail with his e-mail program (outlook).
We tried setting PHP7.3 & PHP7.2 on the hosting, but sending mails from a contact form doesn't work.
Don't we have to give a mail login, password, SSL settings etc. before a mail can be sended?
In your first message you wrote 'Go to the site admin area and test different types of mail scripts'
I cannot find this in Website X5. Can you pls. explain.
Kind regards,
Patrick
"Don't we have to give a mail login, password, SSL settings etc. before a mail can be sended?" - if you are using SMTP with authorization, then yes.
"In your first message you wrote 'Go to the site admin area and test different types of mail scripts'
I cannot find this in Website X5. Can you pls. explain." - go to "https://yoursite.domain/admin" and go here for mail test:

Hi,

What now? It worked a few weeks ago....
Best regards,
Patrick
"SMTP connect() failed" - I would first double-check the connection parameters: SMTP server, password, login, etc.Check with your hosting provider.
Are you using 2020.2.6.2 or 2020.2.6 version?

Ok, we found a setting with PHP (SMTP) that can send e-mails correct with the test e-mail on website test.
However sending mails from the contact form, still doesn't work. How can we implement the settings from the test in our website, so the contact form will work as it should?
Best regards,
Patrick
Hello Daels
It should be enough to go to Step 1 -> Data management and insert all the Data there along with the appropriate SMTP script.
Did you try that already? Export the website again once you're done
Let me know if it works this way
Thank you
Stefano

Awesome! It's working now.
Only one issue left. When I export the website, I receive a message like in the attachement.
Have you any idea what the cause can be?
Best regards,
Patrick
Hello Daels
This indicates that you've configured folders in your project (namely under Step 1 -> Data Management and the Guestook) that are supposed to have "Writing Access" online. Now, either those folders do not actually exist online or they do not have the writing permissions that the software needs
Contact your hosting provider and ask them to verify this for you
keep me posted here after
Thank you
Stefano
Alexsej, what program are you showing in the large screenshot above? It does not look anything like my version of Website X5. Just curious.
"Alexsej, what program are you showing in the large screenshot above? It does not look anything like my version of Website X5. Just curious." - this is the admin panel of the site that is made in WebSite X5 Pro 17.0.11. This is a demo site from video tutorials.
But in the 2020 version, the admin panel is very, very similar. Rather the same. You may not see all the menu items on the left, but it depends on the settings of your site.

Hi Stefano,
Guestbook seems to work fine. So writing access is ok.
We only receive the message that the test is failed when we transfer the files to the hosting.
I suppose that this is an error in Website X5 Pro.
Kind regards,
Patrick
Hello Daels
That seems very weird, but if once online the Guestbook seems to work fine, it might be that some particular configuration doesn't allow the test to go through but it does once online
Please keep me posted here should you notice issues on your live website
Thank you
Stefano
