Not Receiving Orders  en

*** URGENT PLEASE ***

I suddenly stopped receiving orders from my website cart,
I haven't changed any settings when this stopped happening.

Also, customers are not receiving orders they place either.

I am using evo 2020.4.7

I have run various tests and nothing is being received. (yes I have checked spam)
When I place test orders a copy is not being received by me or by the 'customer' email address I enter.

This also occurs when I register for access to my shop, or click the forgotten password link.

The website is www.madebyearth.com.au

I am not receiving any errors.

There are a bunch of orders that have been made which I have no record whatsoever of.

I have created a temporary login for X5 Help so you can check for yourself and see if you can find the issue.
login: ***
Password: enter

After readiung other replies on this issue, last upload on the Website Export To Internet page I changed the FTP And Database Connection Parameters email tab to SMTP.
No change.

Hello. Ask your hosting provider what data you need to enter to connect to the site's mail via SMTP. You must use mail with your own domain (@madebyearth.com.au).

Try to enable PHP 7.4 on the hosting.

Also ask the technical support of your hosting if there are any problems from their side . Maybe this can be seen in the logs on the server.

Thansk for your reply.
I will check

Why do I need to use an email from my own domain?
Has this changed? As I have always used a web based email for all of my orders for over 10 years.

OK, so I've had a long play with this.

I made many changes to the email address and here's what I turned up.

In the end I changed my email address to ***

I used PHP Mailer selection in E-mail parameters.

This seemed to work. I placed a test order and received the order to my standard email address (***) and also received a copy of the order to the 'customer' email address I used.

So I obviously have *** in the setting somewhere within the site for orders to be sent to.

Moving forward, I am happy to leave it like this if it worked.

*** does not exist.

Is it ok to continue this way?

Also, I see that with the Pro version, I have access to orders made.

I presume if I had the pro version, I would have been able to see the orders that did not come through to me?

Also, If I register for pro now, would I be able to see these orders? ie: are they there but hidden because I don't have pro, or does registering for pro only allow orders to be seem from the date pro is registered for?

So it appears now that orders are no longer being received by madebyearthmail.com

However customers are receiving their copies of orders.

I'm presumeing that X5 have changed some stuff in an update?

I am using EVO 17 and I am having the same issue the last 3 to 5 days since I have gotten an order. I did 5 test orders and did not get any of them. I contacted my host provider and they tested it and did not get the confirmation. They have elevated my concern so I am waiting to see if it is on their end.

I have not changed anything and it had been working for the last 5 years.

Glad I read this thread as I did not know that with PRO I could look up orders

I've done some more testing.

Earlier today a customer placed an order, she received a copy I did not.

I have a staff member place and order via her phone and she received a copy, I did not.

I place an order on my work computer and also on my phone, and received orders both to ***,a nd also the 'customer' email addressses.

Then I had the same staff member try again via her phone and I DID receive a copy, as did she.

So it seems fairly eratic in only working sometimes.
Order size does not seem to make a difference.

Hello Martin

Since you mentioned that the email is being sent only at times, this is usually an indicator that something is wrong with the emailing server of your hosting

First of all, I would advise contacting their support and verifying if they can check the log of their emailing server and see if the emails are in fact being sent but perhaps are blocked due to some error

If this is it, you can report the error to me here and I can provide more insight into that

If they mention that the email doesn't even reach the emailing server, then something must be wrong with the website and I will verify it for you

Please proceed like this and keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

I have set my PHP to 7.4
PHPO 8.0 is also available, should I set it to that?

Hello Martin

If you also confirm that emails ended up coming after a delay then this is definitely not up to the website itself

As soon as the form is sent or an order is completed, the mailing server receives the data to send the email forward. Any delay there is caused by some internal logic or situation of the emailing server and the software can have no control over this

Unfortunately, all I can advise in this case is to keep in touch with the hosting provider to better understand what might be causing the delays

I remain available here

Thank you

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

Orders are arriving without delay now.

But 2 other issues have developed.

ISSUE 1 is an issue that I have encountered before which is orders arriving with only the first 37 items ordered included. Everything after that is cut off and there is not total etc
I have resolved this issue twice before, when I was instructed to contact my host and to increase the header size.
I did this yesterday and the header size was increased to 512mb with no change
Then today it was further increased to 1gb with no change

ISSUE 2 is new, where I noticed that when i was adding items to my cart, the incorrect items were being added and in quantities greater than 1, as I was adding them. I would add an item and a different item was added to the cart. Then I would go back and add that item again, and it was added to the cart in a higher qty, and the incorrect items was still present in the cart.
After I added 50+ items (one of each) I looked at my cart and there were many multiple items added, and some missing.

More testing with different browser.
Same issues.

Biggest concern is the inaccurate adding of products to my cart.

Can only assume this is a software issue?

Please advise ASAP.

Hello Martin

I'm glad to hear that the first issue is solved

About the other ones:

1_ I think it really depends on the server configuration.

I can explain how to try to increase this limit but I warn you that this goes beyond the assistance on the program and for everything you will then have to refer directly to your provider.

You must request the modification of the following parameter with the following value:

post_max_size -> (as high as the hosting is allowed to)

once this is done, request a restart of your web space and check if the order now arrives correctly.

If even after this change the order does not arrive completely then try to have these additional parameters changed on your hosting.

upload_max_filesize = (as high as the hosting is allowed to)

max_input_vars = 5000

max_input_time = 60

2_ I've personally tested this on your website and never encountered the issue nor ever got a similar report from any user. I'm led to believe that something might be off with the device used for the test specifically and would like to ask you to test the same from multiple devices. Other computers and mobile phones too

Should the issue persist, please record a video of the procedure that clearly shows this happening and keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

thanks for your reply.

Just received another reply from my host

Hello Martin,
Thank you for your update.
I have checked your IP but I am unable to see anything on the server which may cause that behavior.
Also, in your tickets where this was resolved, the PHP limits were increased only which was done in this ticket as well.
With that in mind, please try reverting the latest modifications prior to this issue including the PHP version and anything else that you did.
If that does not help, I suggest you contact your website developer or such with experience who can check the code and advise further.
At this moment, I don't see any logs being generated which can point us in the right direction.

I will send them the info you mentioned and see if they can use it to improve the issue.

Regarding the second issue,

I encounter this issue when I test via this page https://www.madebyearth.com.au/crystal-healing-kits.php
I add one of everything on this page, and order comes through (still cut off) but with multiples and different amounts ordered.

Will test tomorrow on my work computer and get staff to also test on their phones.
