Normally a site is presented without the index.html the first time a page is shown in the URL and then when navigating via the menu, the page shown is also shown in the URL.

Normal the home page is named index.html - have you renamed it?

But I would not mind that the page.name is shown. It will be shown anyway when you start navigating on your site.

The website has an intro page that redirects to home.html.

If the intro page is not needed, turn it off at WebSite X5.

WebSite X5 > 1 Settings > Intro page

If there are problems after deactivating the intro page and uploading the website again, then also delete the two files index.php and home.html on the web space.

I still haven't been able to get home.html removed in my browser.
If the mistake is to look at the so-called MAP, see my attachment

Is the intro page needed at all? If not then simply deactivate the intro page.

Or is there another problem that hasn't been mentioned yet?

I can't say anything about the sitemap because I don't create any such sitemaps.

Do as suggested by Daniel. Untick "show entry page"

I recommend CTRL+preview to refresh the whole site (but if you have a lot of content to upload then you may wish to try without doing this) then go to step 5 website export to internet and use the built in ftp browser to remove index.php and home.html from your host.
