In Version 8 there was a button available in the text screen that alowed me to import an excel spreadsheet as an ole object. That does not seem to be available in version9. I have tried linking and while the page looks as though it is trying to lad the data nothing is viewable. Any advice , please? Mike

Is this not possible to do. I would have thought if it was feasible in v8 then there would be a similar or compatible function in V9?

Really appreciate some assistance or advice on this

Mike

The Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) that was available in V8 is no longer available in V9 as it is obsolete. However you can mimic i.e a spreadsheet or Word document by saving as a .pdf (Portable File Document). You can then utilise HTML & Widgets by inserting the PDF. The benefits of using .pdf are better than OLE as you can have longer documents. OLE gave you a small snap shot and was very limited.

No OLE is old if you look at Office 2010 such functionality is obsolete. I have given you the alternative which works fine - in fact perfectly. Change is always difficult to embrace, I too wish it was there but if Microsoft has phased it out then we are only left with this alternative of converting to Excel or Word to PDF and utlising it as the alternative. I did see an earlier post by WX5 staff to say it was obsolete and that it would not be incorporated.
