no recent content changes to our website

but after after update two online payment methods do not work anymore (see print screen added to understand which payment methods do not work anymore). Those payment methods worked fine for many years...

when client clicks on "buy now", GOOGLE CHROME or EDGE says 'website creates generic error'

in the admin version the order appears, but the client does not go through to the payment page

A "general error" could be related to the PHP version of the web server.

Which PHP version is set on the web server or in the web host's customer area?

Hi Daniël, thanks for the hint : we will check and keep you informed if increasing the PHP-version solves the problem. Till recently it all worked fine anyhow.

Hi Daniël, PHP was on version 8.0  and now we installed 8.3.8, but unfortunately it still doesn't work again. Same erro on both EDGE and CHROME : "website tells generic : error" when calling for online payment (offline payment works).

Just tried to downgrade the PHP version to the outdated version 7.4.33.... and now it works again....

Does it mean is X5 PRO not ready for PHP 8 and forces us to use outdated PHP-version ? Or other reason ?

Has it also been tested with PHP 8.2?

The error message “general error” is not meaningful enough, so contact the web hosting provider’s support so that they can provide the server’s error log file.

In the error log file, Incomedia staff may be able to identify sources of error and possibly contact the web hosting provider to find a solution.

Hello,
if your website was created with your latest version, v2024.1, then the latest compatible PHP version is 8.2, so I would suggest trying with that one.
What is the URL of the website?
As Daniel mentioned, usually a Generic error does not have many details that can be investigated from the outside, but I would like to make a test order to take a look.

Eric
