Dear incomedia developers,
Congratulations!! because the software is powerful everyday.
I see in one of the last upgrades that you improved the product options in the ecommerce, that's great BUT I cannot export and import the options, so each time that I upgrade my products with the fast export and import *.csv tool I lose the otions information of all my products, it rendering the import and export tool and the options ecommerce upgrade useless.
Please could you upgrade the import export tool with the complete options and suboptions?
Thank you!!!

Hi Fernando,

thank you for getting in touch.

I think we already reported this Idea in the past, but I will be happy to do it again, so to bring the attention back on this aspect.

Thanks! Kind regards.

Yes, it is the fourth time since 2021, and my prayers have not been answered.

I have 3 webpages with e-commerce of 1000 products with 7 sizes, today I have 7000 products listed, and I cannot add more products.
The X5cart.php file is huge, and x5settings.php too (more than 50MB each one).
The cart has become really slow.

If I could put the 7 size options with the different prices and weights, it would help to make a cart with 1000 products. This would dramatically increase the speed and allow me to increase the e-commerce with new products.

Creating 7000 options by hand is not an "option" because it's too slow, and I have to change the prices every 2 months. The e-commerce is in Argentina with inflation.

The export and import products tool is a powerful tool that helps me change prices, but I cannot import and export options.
In the earlier versions (2008, 2010, 2011, etc.), WebsiteX5 could import and export options, but this part of the tool has been lost for a long time.

I am a happy Incomedia customer because the software makes e-commerce easy.
I need this tool, and I have been waiting and praying for it for a long time. I will continue waiting.

I hope you will evaluate this positively and improve the import and export product tool.
Thank You!!!

Hello Fernando,

Fernando B.
The X5cart.php file is huge, and x5settings.php too (more than 50MB each one). The cart has become really slow.

This issue is caused by the eCommerce structure into WSX5. Here it is the real proof that is not just based on a database but also with some files on the website. !!! It's absolutely incredible !!!foot-in-mouth

Effectively into x5cart.php all products are listed and in you case the file is too big.

The eCommerce part into WSX5 needs to be completely re-designed and re-developped with a full Database implementation and support.

Big big work .....

By this way local files would not big and it could be possible to develop too, a real Back office to manage eCommerce from webpage like many many others solution have.

Cross the fingers...wink

And you are right too about the CSV file which is not complete to import products.... All options into the GUI should be included to import them

It was an excellent project at birth, now it feels the weight of the years in certain contexts and should be modernized a little

And if the eCommerce was fully based with a database (Fully, fully like any solution) I could develop in a record time a web interface to manage the eCommerce (stock, orders, customers, shipping, prices ..etc)

But I need to have a full based DB solution with a documented DB...

I have a powerfull framework to do that.

Here some infos about it

https://www.afsoftware.fr/sgbd2web.html

I can promise to do that if The eCommerce will be based on DB infrastructure. And all users (and their customers) could use it to manage their eCommerce part, from a frontal web interface.
Not in competition with WSX5 but an external service based on the DB infos to offer a FULL ECOMMERCE BACK OFFICE.

Here, it was a web interface based on actual eCommerce DB

https://wsx5plugins.afsoftware.fr/index.php

But not possible to go away, because the full eCommerce DB is not there. Many other infos are into flat files on the website... and not into DB cry

And also the WSX5 GUi is also necessary to have to manage stocks !!! foot-in-mouth
