Unable to upload new content from existing Website to Server - error message
Auteur : M. H.My last upload to my website server online was in October 11th 2025 and I just worked on my page a bit and tried to upload yesterday to the server. The first error message was connection to Server could not be established - I found out the password was incorect, so I changed it. Then I received a message about MySQL - I never used MySQL on my website or on the server. Then I click ignore and get another error message : The main database cannot be reached - and the Server company - in my case hostpapa is saying: Hello,
Thank you for update.
Even if your website does not actively use MySQL, WebSite X5 can still require a database connection during export when certain internal features are enabled in the project. This requirement comes from the software itself, not from the hosting server.
The reason it worked previously is likely that the project configuration at that time did not enforce a database check during export. Since then, the project settings or the WebSite X5 version may have changed, which is why the program now requires a database connection before completing the upload.
At this stage, there are two ways to proceed:
-Configure a MySQL database so WebSite X5 can complete the export, or
-Disable all database-related features within the WebSite X5 project and retry the upload
I have no idea what to do and where to look for all this. Please help me to understand what is going on. See screenshots. Thanks

Since it is an old version from 2021, maybe the Incmedia staff can help, they will be online here in about 8 hours.

@Daniel - I am in Canada - by the time they are online, I might be in bed. - I am still not able to do any upload, I cannot even change the Data Management - it is greyed out. - I feel helpless right now.
If at WebsiteX5 at...
5 Export > Export the website to the Internet / Parameters
_______/ Data management /_____
...is grayed out and nothing can be changed, then this issue needs to be fixed by Incomedia.
Incomedia staff will post an email address here to which a backup copy of the project in IWZIP format can be sent via a file transfer service (e.g. WeTransfer.com).
Backup copy:
5 Export > Export project
After the problem has been resolved, the backup copy will be returned.

Hello,
I am sorry about the issue, ...
Please provide me with a copy of the project and I will delete the Data Management parameters, allowing you to edit those fields again.
You can export it in Step 5 - Export, choosing the “Export the project” option to generate an IWZIP file.
You can then upload the file with SwissTransfer, TransferNow or similar services, and provide a download link to support @ incomedia.eu (without the spaces).
I remain available.
