I have been using WebSite X5 for many years, but at the moment I am holding off on purchasing a new licence because of one important limitation of the e-commerce system.

Most of my sales are made to customers outside Poland, especially to businesses located in other EU countries.

For EU B2B sales, I need the following standard scenario:

• The customer selects that they are purchasing as a company.

• They enter their EU VAT number.

• The VAT number is verified in VIES.

• If the VAT number is valid and the customer is located in another EU country, the order is processed with 0% VAT as an intra-Community B2B supply.

• If the customer does not have a valid EU VAT number, the appropriate VAT is charged.

As far as I can see, WebSite X5 still does not support this functionality automatically. VAT can be configured depending on the customer's country, but there is no proper mechanism to verify an EU VAT number through VIES and automatically apply 0% VAT to eligible B2B customers.

For a business like mine, where a large part of sales is made to companies in other EU countries, this makes the built-in e-commerce system very difficult to use.

What is quite surprising is that your own WebSite X5 website already supports exactly this type of purchase. I have personally purchased WebSite X5 licences from you several times as an EU business customer using a valid VAT number and was able to purchase without VAT.

So my question is:

Are you planning to introduce VIES VAT number validation and automatic 0% VAT handling for intra-EU B2B sales in WebSite X5?

This is currently one of the main reasons why I am postponing the purchase of a new WebSite X5 licence.

I believe this functionality would be very useful not only for me, but for many European businesses using WebSite X5 for e-commerce.
